Kirsty, congrats on being under 6k.:j
In regards to yoga, Y0utube is actually a great place for yoga videos. One of my favourites is yoga with Adriene - she has loads of free yoga work outs & does a great beginner series. I find her easy to follow & not irritating at all, she's very funny.
Thanks Sashybo, that sounds ideal - I'll give it a go whilst OH is out at kung fu tonight:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

In keeping with my plan to keep more in touch with my diary, I'm back again
Made another large-ish PAD today so very pleased with how the figures are projected to be looking at the end of March
I have had a bit of a mad moment though. We were looking at ways to decorate the bedroom which will be the nursery all being well. I don't want to spend ages getting it decorated as a bedroom only to have to change it, so we started looking at ways of decorating that would be able to be adapted into a nursery, which then turned into looking at furniture, which lead to looking at nursery furnitureNothing like getting way ahead of yourself!
It was good to see that we are on the same page about pretty much everything to do with kids though - my sister is quite materialistic (not a criticism, that's just how she is....and to be honest, how I used to be!) and my parents bought her the pram she was desperate for (£850!!) and my grandparents paid half for the nursery furniture (£950 including the 'must have' next to me cot!) my parents have said we will have the same budget when it is our turn, but having talked about it we have decided we would prefer to go second hand for the pram and nursery furniture - I don't see the point in spending a fortune if you don't need to, when there is perfectly good stuff out there at bargain prices.
Anything left over will go straight into a little ones bank account, which I think is a better start than the latest pram.
My parents are quite shocked by this way of thinking and we actually had words about it last week - with my Dad saying that if it was a question of safety (ie car seat or mattress) he would have to 'put his foot down' and insist we bought new. I saw red at this because:
a) I would never jeopardise safety - car seat and mattress at the things we have both already agreed would be new.
b) I firmly believe it is no-ones choice but ours either way, and any talk of grandparents putting feet down will be swiftly silenced - my dad is quite offended at this way of thinking - am I mad?
I know everyone has different ideas about how to raise children but I can already see why my sister is getting so wound up with both sets of grandparents interfering!
Sorry for rambling there, I would just really appreciate another point of view on this in case I'm just massively overthinking!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Morning Kirsty :hello:
I think you're being very sensible about the baby stuff - after all it's just "stuff" and the baby's not going to know or care! The important stuff will be new - the car seat & the cot mattress - and it's not really anyone else's business.
We're going for a mix of new and secondhand stuff for our first baby i.e. we bought a new pram (but made sure it was a bargain & should do the baby up until they're 3 yo) but are getting a secondhand cotbed from friends - again we'll just need to buy a new mattress.
We paid £280 for our pram plus the car seat - £850 is a scary number. I'm sure I'd love to spend it if we had it but we don't. As for nursery furniture, all we feel we really need is a chest of drawers, a small bookshelf & possibly a chair for breastfeeding in.
It's good that both you & your OH are on the same page with this as you'll be the ones making the decisions. The only putting down of feet should be yours!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £850.
