The staff member telling me that all printers come with 'starter' cartridges was a lie.
Does that make it clear?
But he told you that the Epson comes with starter cartridges... you didn't believe him... and it did come with starter cartridges.
15 all.

I did! I correctly read that the Canon had full cartridges but the staff member lied and misled me.0

Or did the staff member truly believe that what he told you was correct?
Akkers, have you ever made a mistake?0 -

Why did you trust him when you had taken the Epson to the till and he couldn't, in your description, even show you on the Epson box what he was talking about. You didn't trust him about the Epson box he had in front of him, thinking he was trying to flog you more cartridges, but you DID believe him about a random printer on the shelf that he did not have in front of him.
Yes, that makes perfect sense.0 -
All printers come with the starter cartridges and this is not normally listed on the box it is done as a general rule to get you started and if you print volume then you buy cartridges at the time of buying your printer.
Factor in the cost of a printer these days of say £25-£30.00 and say to yourself do you really believe they will supply this with £40.00 worth of inks ? - No I though not and this is how the small home user printer market works and has done for many years with cheap products and cartridges costing more that the initial printer itself.
If this is something you do not like then you basically have to lump it or look at spending a lot more money on a industrial style printer so to speak as even most laser printers come with the same thing here and people tend to buy a spare set of cartridges if they believe they will produce volume.
If you look to complain here you will waste time, effort and stress for nothing as the store has done nothing wrong and you should have spent more time looking for the golden goose so to speak as there is no printer at the costs involved which would supply full cartridges.0 -

Steve - this is not correct. Canon have responded to my query and confirmed that their printers come with basic cartridges and not 'stater'.0
