Working for halifax I deal with these question each and everyday, if you have had a payment the next month it must have been because of a non working day or a BH, I wouldn't suggest this to customers as it clearly says in T&C's that DD must be paid out each calendar month.

I have been caught out with this when my CC was paid the next day and I missed out on the £5 so I have set up Tescos to add to my TV licence payment so this doesn't happen again. That said if it has worked for you in the past it must have been a admin error but that said its not something that you can rely on and by moving the DD from the end of the month will make sure you are guaranteed the payment.

DD needs to be paid out in each calendar month so DD due out on 31st August will come out in September and will be used for the October reward payment...

If its paid out in September and you have not paid out DD for august then you will not get the £5 payment on 2nd September.
I looked today at my San123 A/c,and notice I have a DD that also pays on the 31st,for ages, sometimes they pay it early, sometimes later, and as I have the max £20k in, would this affect my interest?
It's always been paid to my knowledge
.Should I should also bring this forward.??

Santander does not require DDs to pay out every month in order to get interest.

I would bring it forward as I would think they would pay out the next working day after the BH, I do know some institutions pay money in early over BH but I think DD will go out the next day.

Looking at Santanders T&C's you just need to have the DD paid out to get the cash back from them and are not attached to the interest payment, (thats is the regular credit of £500 each month) so your DD for 31st August wont have an impact on interest payment.

I have not received my £5 reward today and have spoken to HX and they advise other customers are still awaiting payment. The advisor thinks it should be credited tomorrow/.
