Their customer service is sketchy at best. Try to contact via here and FB page but drawing a stoney silence. Mmm😕 draw your own conclusions

Trying to use ATM in Spain with my euro balance and its trying to convert it to euros at bad rate on 1.36 something? Why am I not getting euros as euros as this defeats the whole point of the card?
It's probably because the ATM detects a UK card and is giving you the choice of 'conversion' from pounds at their lousy rate. You have to decline by choosing the other option, which should be there, worded in various ways. But some Spanish bank ATMs are notorious for evading the requirement to give the choice.

    Hi Smithnr7,

Thank you for the compliments and the feedback! I am glad to hear that all your issues have been resolved and I believe your wife's card is now working also. We are sorry for the trouble you have gone through and we are constantly improving our systems. Thanks for believing in our card and we hope that your Revolut experience will be much smoother!

This card is such a good idea so it's a shame that using it is so frustrating. We got 2 cards for use on our holiday, one for me and one for my wife. Had to chase up delivery on both to make sure we had them before leaving but they did turn up in time.

When things go smoothly the card and app are brilliant but so far in one week I've had:

    - Top up stuck at "pending" forcing me to use a credit card instead (resolved when app updated the next day)

    - Verification problems in the app stopping us topping up (resolved by sending email & photos)

    - Debits taken when transaction failed leaving me $39 out of pocket (tip - don't try to use the card to purchase New York subway metrocards)

    - My wife's card is currently blocked but holding £400 of our cash - no explanation from support just a request for photo ID. Sent 2 hours ago with no reply to date and support appears to have gone home leaving us having to top up my card unnecessarily.

As I say - it's such a good idea and I hope the bugs get ironed out but right now it's interfering with our holiday and I can't get rid of the feeling that we're being used as guinea pigs...

    Hi DCFC79,

You can use this card abroad to spend in euros. You can check what currencies we support and their current rates here: https://revolut.com/savings.

  • more and more complaints are coming out about this company.

people having cards blocked, accounts frozen, people being told they wont have access to their funds for 6 months.

Don't rely on it as the sole source of funds if you're going away.

    Hi,
All working well for us here in America. Quick quetstion though, how do tips work...?

Restaurants appear to charge the card with the base amount on the bill before returning a slip to you too sign on which you can include a gratuity. Does this work? Only done it in one diner so far and Revolut is only showing the base amount and not the total including gratuity, so I've been putting cash down for a gratuity since then.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cornish,

Many of these complaints have been resolved. I can assure you that if we are contacted about a blocked account we check this within the day and do a thorough investigation into it to determine its outcome.

    Hi rnlg,

They authorise the base amount. Then later, when the transaction is settled, they settle for base amount and the tip. The amount will change in the Revolut app when this happens. So at first, the app shows base amount, a few days later, the app will update to full amount. If you have paid tip on the card, please check whether this has been updated.
