  • Very happy with my card, the online and phone support, and ease of use of my Revolut card. Read about it on here but was only a few days away from holiday. Phoned up and asked about delivery and very helpful lady promised delivery within a day or two, which happened. Got the £5 MSE bonus. Used it in France but only for ATM cash withdrawals - was going to use it in a restaurant but it didn't take card payments!!!

Exchange rates that i got varied from 1.4042 to 1.4076, with no fees of any kind.

Going via ferry to Holland in September - looking forward to using my card there and will report back on my experience. 10/10 so far for Revolut from me.
  • Received both cards today. Can't access my pin though so am waiting for support to get back to me. Guess it might do with having 2 different cards. Also noticed that the card I was sent via next day delivery doesn't have my name on it.

I would just like to point out that it now takes this company a full working week to send your money to a UK bank account.

    Hi Hunnipot,

Please make sure you have logged out and back in via the profile tab. Then use the card shown under the "My Card" section.

This is an absolutely fantastic service and I think they have the total concept spot-on for what people want.

However, am not fully confident in using the service as I made a withdrawal to my bank account on Monday morning and this has not reached my bank account yet. I have checked the account number and sort code I entered for the withdrawal and they are correct. Does anyone know if this is normal? With everything else about this service being so swish, I thought withdrawals would be within hours not days.

    Thank you, I will do.
Pretty please for faster withdrawals, it is the single negative for an otherwise perfect offering.

  • Dear Revolut Official

This is clearly a brilliant idea to overcome the rapacious bank FX costs while hopefully, providing a satisfactory return on investment as use of the service grows. I feel sure any teething troubles will be overcome. My prime concern would be lodging such a full set of personal information with you, especially seeing that major companies like Target, Sony, eBay, JP Morgan and Premera Blue Cross have had hundreds of millions users' personal data hacked. It makes your data an even more attractive proposition for hacking. Despite that, I intend to sign up.

Q1. Are you happy to have people use the card to swap repeatedly between GBP-USD-EUR in what might be Foreign Exchange speculation?

Q2. Does using the card ever result in the seller applying or trying to apply Dynamic Currency Conversion?

Q3. I appreciate that Revolut offers a much broader service than WeSwap and TransferWise, but how are your FX rates likely to compare with them?

Comment: My, and I think others' question has been, what is the interbank rate compared to the midrate found on sites such as xe.com? Is there really something called "Perfect Interbank Rate"? If there isn't, I suggest you drop this term; perhaps providing and explaining the likely buy/sell spread, if any, on interbank exchange rates. For all I know you might explain that the interbank rate is the midrate seen on the likes of xe.com.

I love Revolut been using the service 2 months now. When I was abroad though HSBC charged me a non-stg transaction fee, I make sure in future to top up the card with pounds first and then exchange for euros in the app.

Another question, if I was to top up money to Revolut via a credit card would that be counted as a cash withdrawal by the Credit Card provider.

I don't think you can top up Revolut with a credit card, they would have to pay the interchange and make a loss - a bit too much to expect, unless we want them to start introducing charges.
    Evolution, not revolution
