  • I was able to sign up with the app, transfer money in and exchange at the interbank rate within a few minutes. I also used the card to make a small payment in Euros to an online French vendor which seems to have gone through fine (and presumably without any fees!). From this perspective 10/10. Only mark down so far would be that the physical card has taken 10 days to come through. I look forward to using this once abroad next week. Has anyone used the physical card yet and is able to confirm it works?

    I would also be very interested to hear an answer to eDicky's post with regards to biometric images and passport info.

    I topped up £1100 over hour half ago and it still not showing on my £ balance. I did this via card after having to verify identity which is approved. This is second top up after the initial £10 one which gave me balance available. Immediately.

    Can anyone advise what is going on? Thought balance should be there ASAP to exchange.

    I've just installed the app, registered and requested a card by pressing the Deliver Card button. I got no confirmation about the card having been requested. Is that normal? I travel in 3 weeks so the stated 10 days will be getting tight if any problems.

  • Out of curiosity, is this available for non-UK customers?

    It would certainly be very useful for me to hold a EUR account that could be used for HUF/CZK/HRK transactions at the interbank rate. I can transfer from my own Polish-based EUR account to any other EUR account free of charge via SEPA, and I can obtain Euro for a tiny margin (within 0.20% of the interbank rate). But...I'm not UK resident.

    Hi,

    I think this is a great service.

    I used the MSE link and got the app. I used the support window INSIDE the app to tell them I needed a card quickly. They jumped around and got one into the post to me very quickly.

    I used it in Spain and Portugal for 10 days. I topped up and exchanged cash about 8 times. I got cash out in ATM's, used as prepaid mastercard in restaurants / supermarkets, petrol stations, etc. The only time I had any hassle was when I didn't have enough balance in Euro. I verified my ID using my driving license and a photo. It didn't clear realtime but the app said they would get on to it and next time I logged in my ID was verified.

    The only downside, and it is minor, is that you either have to have wifi access or roaming data on your phone to top-up / exchange.

    And obviously the earlier questions in this thread about the different interbank rates etc needs to be definitely closed off.

    But I was very happy and I absolutely saved money vs the HSBC credit / debit cards I have used before. Overall looks like good product and great execution.
