Hi, do sky allow 18185 or do you have to use the 0800 number?0

I have Plusnet for phone and broadband and am able to use 18185.
My friend has Tesco phone and broadband and cannot use 18185.
My Plusnet contract is ending this month and am considering SSE but their website says "Excludes indirect access numbers".0 -

Use the Freephone 0808 number listed and the cost is 5p connection and 1p a minute.

Hi, I'm looking to save some money on calls made with a landline and I'm considering using the 18185 service where you dial 18185 as a prefix before then dialling the full number.
(As a new user I can't link to their website, but if you search for "18185" it will be the top result - also a search for "18185 rates" will lead to a page listing all their call rates.)
They've been around for a long time I know, but I've just never quite got around to giving them a go. The reviews seem generally positive, though it seems like some people have had a few billing problems in the past, and customer service doesn't really appear to exist. But they are very cheap.
I was just wondering what experiences people might have had with them? In particular what is the call quality like, and do calls made via 18185 show the CLI (caller ID) at the recipient's end (for UK domestic calls)? And what about the billing - is it ok?
My usage would mostly be for calling UK landlines and mobiles, with some international calls - basically Europe, with a handful of calls to North American and African destinations.
Thanks for sharing any experiences, Alex.0 -
Also consider 18866 which we have used for years as they are very good too.0

18185 charge 6p per minute for calls to mobiles during the week and 7p at weekends.
If you're on BT with either the Anytime call plan or BT Home Phone Saver, calls to mobiles are already 6p per minute with all calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers inclusive in the calls allowance. HPS costs just £3 more than line rental on its own, but requires you get your broadband elsewhere.0 -
18866 charge 0pence per minute but 5pence per call to landlines. Calls to mobiles vary as do calls overseas but when you connect the call a voice tells you the rate per minute. We ring USA and Eire and make calls on weekdays in the UK and our bills are really low. Check out the website https://www.18866.com as they show you the different rates to other countries.0

I use 185 185 and never had a problem.
I am private so my number would not show up at the other end anyway.
I cannot use 185185 direct might be as I am with VirginMedia and use another code which I think is 5p a minute to connect then 1p for most numbers. I have it programmed into my call directory and just hit it, then a voice tells you to input the number. You must use the full area code and then hit hash key. I call my brother in Canada and it was 1p a minute as well. You have to set up a direct debit but I have never had a problem.0
