Re the OP, Primus, (Plusnet?). now Fuel Broadband do not allow override numbers, had them for 12 months up until end of October and could not use 1899, 18866, 18185, etc.
.
I am currently with Fuel Broadband (previously Primus) and have been using 18185 override number without any issues for well over a year.0 -

I was with them for 12 months up to the end of October 12,and when I tried to use 1889, 18185 or 18866 I got a message along the lines of " this number cannot be recognised", I had phone line and BB, are you paying them line rental? Or are you still paying BT line rental?

I'm paying Fuel Broadband my monthly phone line rental - but not my broadband (currently with Sky, previously O2 - but current offer running out shortly) Perhaps having broadband with them is a factor as to whether override numbers (eg. 18185) work or not.0 -

Broadband does seem to be the factor. I joined Primus and could use 18185. Now I use them for broadband too and suddenly 18185 does not work.0 -

Up until recently only BT use to have to allow access to short indirect codes eg 1899, other suppliers were exempt .
Ofcom have ruled BT no longer have to allow access either. However they still do so at the present time.0
