    Evening everybody...

Manic day at work, but managed to claim SFD number 4 - so happy with that!

Thanks Bobarella for your suggestion about the cashback cc. The trouble is I have been turned down for 2 bank accounts recently and so I think I'm wasting my time applying for anything requiring a credit check, until I've been at my current address a while longer - and built up some positive credit history.

Chilled night for me tonight and day off tomorrow :T

Today I am grateful for the soundof the wind in the trees, for a lovely neighbour letting dd play in her garden, for smiles from dd, for being paid for some work I did, for eating more veg.

I was finally paid for some exam board marking and have split it into 'untouchable' savings and my stretch fund. So, given that I have now exceeded my original target with £200 'easy money', I shall increase the goal to £450, which will 'negate' the easy money without denying it! Cor, what a weird explanation. It all makes sense in my little world...

Well done Bob on the glowing praise! Thoroughly deserved.

Do others feel an overwhelming need to sit and put their feet up after reading just how much mothernerd has been up to? Amazing woman you!

Great brand drops tog. We have that coffee and sauce too - or rather, dh does.

Well, dd is finally asleep so I shall go and surprise dh by talking to him!

    Evening everyone.

I think today will be classed as part of my "outdoors" day. I spent three hours trailing around a kids play area thing (a mix of characters from nursery rhymes and movies punctuated by swings). Went with my nephew as part of a birthday party.
I have never been around that many kids at the same time. It's... erm... eye opening.

Spend free day as the parents of the birthday child paid for my entrance and my lunch. Very nice of them as I only went to drive my sister-in-law and nephew.
    :)

I did put in diesel (using the campervan at the moment) but am not going to count it as a spend day because if I was still using my car, I wouldn't have needed fuel.
Basically, I topped my car up at the end of June and £40 normally lasts me a month... but my brother has borrowed my car (long story) so I have now had to top up the campervan too.
Which is why I am being stubborn and not counting it.
    :(

So... that gives me 5 spend free days so far.
    :j

Back to work tomorrow so that means another three spend-free days hopefully... although could be done with more bread.
    :undecided

    Hope everyone is doing well.
    Hugs to you all.

  • Hey all, sorry about the luck of updates, I'm on NSD 7 but that will come to an abrupt halt tomorrow but I will be back on it from the 13th July! I also gave some CD singles to a lady for her daughter's 18th via a freecycle website today.

    Morning all,

Life is crazy busy here atm. I had planned a lovely week of socialising to celebrate the end of marking, but I'm still marking so having to fit socialising I'm around it.

Yesterday was a spendy day, bought treats for work, got my hair coloured ready for the wedding and went out for a family meal. Today may be SF but going out later, although I have a plan to try and keep it SF ;)

Still awaiting money from my first lot of tutoring, hope it arrives ASAP or I'll need to borrow from Peter to pay Paul at the end of the month.

welshkitty that sounds like a great business idea

bob well done on earning such a great recommendation

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Good Morning Turtles

Great to read that people are claiming their outdoor days already, hitting high NSD figures & reaching/exceeding debt repayment or savings plan figures. And brand dropping fo shave off £££. So much motivation on this month's challenge!

As we head towards the middle of the month keep questioning every spend, is it necessary, do I need it or just want it? Is it it my budget? Keep checking your online banking every day if possible to see how you are against budget. Keeping your focus tight now is going to make quite a difference to your bottom line.

Just to keep things interesting, we will be having a mini challenge:T more info to follow!

As Journey once sang ' don't stop believing' we can all get to our goals.

Another SFD yesterday. Seem to be doing so much better this month! ☺

After handing in one huge freelance project on Monday, I picked up the next And am already 40% through! A bit of performance work on Friday will see me covered for my social things this week.

Also signed up to a free trial at ancestry, which gives me a week or so to crack on with project family tree. Discovered my great gran's first child was illegitimate! 1911, must have been tough!
Going to be a good week I feel.
    Keep reading books!

Morning! A bit late to the party but can I join in?

Since massively overspending last month (we moved house but that's no excuse, I still took my eye off the ball) I am aiming for as many nsd's as possible this month!

My definition of a NSD is when I don't touch the bank account. So I can spend cash that I have on me and bills can come out but no switching things - online or otherwise!

I have had 6 nsd's so far this week! As a self confessed online shopping addict I'm really very proud of that!

    Good morning all!

Bob that song will be stuck in my head all day.

  • Ahhh Bob! So motivational amongst this lively group. This will be my last check in until Monday. Last night l really thought, "There's absolutely no way l can get an NSD today". The OH and I are meeting at the airport this evening so we'll need to have dinner there. Then l just thought ha! We have loads of snacks in our house and absolutely more than enough food to cook dinner so l'm going to cook food and bring it to the airport. Haha. I've forgotten how the debt journey can be fun when you gave random "ah - ha!"moments. May you all have a beautiful day and hopefully an NSD one!
