Thank you Bob. I remember that several of our pupils had parents who worked up in town and it was a difficult time for them. Thankfully, all family members were fine. x

    Hi everyone!

Felt awful earlier today as it has been so busy in work that we worked right through the minutes silence without realising what time it was. I didn't even look at the clock til it was half an hour too late.

Head is much better today. Has been a spend day but only £1. Needed some make up but managed to get what I needed from the £shop.

Bob sorry wasn't meaning to be all secretive about my new business idea. I am going to be hiring out items for people to use at wedding, parties etc. I am planning a big sweet buffet for my sons party and hope some of the parents will pick up my business card! I started advertising in work today and have had 2 enquiries already, which is promising!

You are perfectly within your rights to be secretive! But cool to hear about it anyway, thats a great idea. A florist I worked with recently does the same thing. She collects vintage milk bottles, the ones that are really pretty & have various messages on, like Kellogs, etc. She also has a vintage bike, & vintage crockery. I dont know how much she makes but it is essentially money for something she has already paid for and doesnt have to pay to store so a win win. She also does wedding flowers anyway so it all ties in.

Word of mouth is great for trade, so you are wise to put a few business cards around the party. I was utterly delighted to recieve a written recommendation for the party I had at the shop on saturday from the party mum, on our local forum, completely unbidden by me. I had thought about asking her to do one, but I always feel a bit icky some how asking for praise (I know get over myself right) so to see it anyway was really nice.

    Good luck with it all!

    Bob

Hi all - Bob, fab news about the recommendation, fingers crossed that means more bookings coming your way. WelshKitty, good for you, I'd love to start my own business but I wouldn't know where to start! Happy working for someone else for the time being :)
Today was a SFD - stupidly climbed 12 flights of stairs TWICE at work, so will definitely regret that tomorrow, but the lifts were taking ages and I thought it wouldn't be too bad (think again!). Second time I really should have known better. Oh well, it's all exercise! Off to collapse on the bed now :D
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

I partaken in the silence as I was driving to work listening to the radio, and at 11:30 it cut out to just a faint buzz so I used this time which at the point I was stationary at a traffic light to think about all of the 52 people who lost their lives 10 years ago...

I remember I was working abroad in Gran Canaria and I had no idea anything had happened till a customer asked if we could put the TV on in the foyer, it was only then I knew of the tragedy that occurred, I immediately thought of my family that live in London and was desperate to get in contact with them to check on them, the most important one, whom lives in south London and regularly uses the tube was my 80 year old Granddad, he was okay and was sitting in his home watching the TV as I was...

Just goes to show you need to appreciate your love ones as you just don't know what may happen.... Tell all of them how much you love them...

A SFD. tackled the front room but still feel the room is winning. I have cleaned the (large) window and window sill (were blocked off by the bed until I moved it last week. Also tackled the dust - there is a gap and dust from between the cavity vestibule wall comes out at the bottom), relocated lots of things (mostly DS3's) and a few things decluttered. Still so much to do.

DS3 tried to make me watch a film this afternoon but gave up the second time I fell asleep. Another half hour of chopping back weeds and shrubs before putting the bins out. All these bits will add up in the end.

Today I am grateful for simple food (had beans on toast as I was worried about the last few slices of bread), or stationery and organisation (needed a particular sized envelope and located it very quickly, due to tidying/ re-organisation I did earlier in the year).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Bob, pleased to hear about the recommendation! Many more will follow, I can already feel it. Excited for you.

A spendy day today. Spent £70 for the weekly groceries, including toiletries, toilet papers, and gardening materials. Still under budget (£90 per week) so there is still room for small top up if needed but I am hoping not to have to do any so I could put the excess in the pot.

Did some brand dropping today - instead of DS2's favourite tomato ketchup, bought ALDI's own brand for only 55p for a 500 ml bottle. And DS2 actually prefers the taste of the cheaper version a- win win! Also bought a 500 g jar of Alcafe for £1.29 in lieu of the famous brand that costs £4.29 per jar. I needed some condensed milk and got 3 tins of an unknown brand for 95p per tin in lieu of Carnations £1.79.

I watched the tribute for the 7/7 bombings and it was heart breaking and heart warming at the same time.

I bid you all good night.

Still off sick due to bad back and I told my boss I won't make it tomorrow either so I've been doing a lot of relaxation and chilling.
