The Only Girl -I can completely see where you are coming from. It must be incredibly hard to make the choice you have. To go from unsociable hours for good pay to unsociable hours for little extra.

Personally I think I'd weigh it all up. You are almost out of debt so could you afford to take the lower paid regular hours job? But then what would it mean to your family if you were out of debt AND you had the extra cash that locuming brings? Could you go back to lo uming for 12 months, bank all the extra and THEN take a lower paid but steady job?
    It's very hard to decide.
I am very cash driven. Always have been. As in I will almost always chose extra money over comfort. Like working all of last weekend even though it means today is my 13th working day with no break. But I did it because I could give my family extra cash for their break away. I think some people need more rest and down time for their health. If you feel you could work harder again for more cash for a certain period then why not? But if you feel after years of doing it anyway you've had enough and can make that choice then don't let the money interfere too much.
I hope that is some kind of help.

Thanks for your feedback Bob. It is really hard to be not motivated by money after being in the bottom of the pit of debt, especially when you can see the end. I didn't think I was motivated by money but I am beginning to see a different side of me. Not that it is a very bad thing. It is not an easy decision to make, one I thought I was well and truly over. Will definitely think hard on this and may even consult some key people in my life before I make a final decision.

As we finally say good bye to a fantastic challenge, many many thanks to you Bob, two more money saving moves were done in the tog household. Just switched to a sim only plan for myself (I am not a heavy user so I switched to £11/month with 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 2GB internet data - according to them my average usage is 1.5 GB) and DS1 (unlimited data he uses an average of 33 GB - teenagers right, 600 minutes for £17/month) saving us £20 and £10 respectively. I also called our water provider regarding the switch to water metre. We just need to have a family meeting to decide not if/THAT it is the best decision for us.

I managed to enrol on the sewing/dressmaking classes starting in September in the hope that I could sew/repair my own dresses and hence make some savings.

THE bed has been delivered and I'm looking forward to having a good night's sleep!

I owe, I owe so off to work I go. Hoping to add one more SFD to my total tonight. Laters.

Hi guys. I am back from my seaside holiday. We got to the beach every day even if sometimes we were wearing 4 jumpers and a coat:rotfl:. We came back with over half of our spending money unspent but did what we wanted and had a good time.

Thanks Bob for this month's challenge - you have been awesome. See you all in August.

Congratulations to everyone in Team NST!!! I think we have all done really well... there have been slips (me!) and advances, challenges overcome and money saved!!!

    :T :T :T

Yesterday was SFD number 19, and today I didn't quite make it... but... 19/20 is not bad (even if I overspent on the days I did spend!!!).

Have a lovely evening and see you all on the other side tomorrow...

Big thanks to Bob for this month's thread, and for Academiablues for August's... :)

Thanks for the challenge Bob. I really loved my day at the seaside (even though I only went as far as the lake). Laughed at you saying you hadn't been on holiday since 2012. My passport runs out in January and haven't been anywhere at all since the college holiday to Italy I bought it for ten years ago (I did intend to go places but life intervened). I haven't even managed to go on the 'Witchy bus' yet and have been promising myself that since I did work experience 8 + years ago.

A SFD so far but going to go tackle those cupboard doors and may need a reward after.
