Hi everyone!
dolly the ironic thing is I'm trying to diet too, and that's going about as well as the money saving!
bob good luck with the decision making. I have every faith that you will make the right decision.
abundant yes, it was like wallpaper paste! I usually like porridge so I think it's the overnight soaking that did it. Won't bother with that again! I tried adding some blackberries that I picked last winter (using up my freezer supplies before we start pickin them again from the free orchard) but even that didn't rescue it!
Been working again today. Managed a bowl of shredded wheat for breakfast and had another jacket and chilli for lunch. So it has been a SFD. Have promised myself to get back in the diet and shed a few pounds after a few recent pics that just don't look like 'me', as well as the fact my clothes are getting tight and I can't afford any new ones!0 -
I have another NSD! THe weather put paid to going far from the back door, so I'm feeling better re my total.
We may even travel home tomorrow - a day early - as dd is missing her daddy, and I'am sooooo allergic to my sister's cats. Antihistamines do not seem to touch it. We'll see how we feel in the morning.

Hi turtletts hope to be to back to normal tomorrow. Not looking forward to work will be hard going. Did see the mountain on my desk when I called in Friday.
Had a busy day entertaining my brood. Eldest daughter wanted a tea party for her birthday. Went out and bought few items this morning. Cooked ham, made banana cake, leek potato soup, pasta dish. Happy both daughters were bowled over to see my feast. Ate too much chocolate cake, sausages, butties. Lots leftovers for tomorrow
Dog seems better, fingers crossed too tired to go out now, hate late night walking.
Will read all your posts tomorrow need sleep badly. Bad night with the back last night.

Another NSD here so that makes 17/20. Have been on another double shift, one more to go tomorrow so it will be straight to bed for me once I get home. Will catch up with everyone's posts soon.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Need to be up early tomorrow and not sure it will happen. I have ventured into the attic at the up for sale house, swept and mopped and put the new pull and cord on the light switch. Was unable to fix the cupboard doors as I think the existing hinges are part of the problem - need to go back tomorrow with more suitable ones.
Lots of other cleaning/ tasks done but still more to do. Brought the raised beds back on the dolly, was just crawling along by then. All my joints ache, feet sore, left shoulder particularly painful plus feeling sick and dizzy (thought it was hunger but still hanging on though receding). Struggled to climb in and out of the bath. So tomorrow will be a struggle between making myself go there v how bad the doors look. Somedays all you can do is put one foot in front of the other.
Need to get this house sold. Still don't understand modern house buyers - next door was sold for far more than mine yet they seem to have nearly gutted the place, front room is stripped down to the plaster and the back yard is filled with radiators/ flooring and wooden fittings. Why don't they buy a cheaper house if they are going to change absolutely everything?
Also not a SFD. DS3 went out yesterday and has brought beloved back with him. I had enough food to scrape through the weekend and possibly to the end of the week mainly on sandwiches but nothing like enough for company (was very boring food as well). I think the short notice was because she only knew she could stay when she found out what her shifts were for this week.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Morning All
I can't believe we are entering the final week of July. Does anyone else feel it has zipped by?
I am in for the long haul as OH gets paid on the last calendar day each month so this Friday.
I have hit the NSD target but won't be going crazy this week. 2 days till my OH and son head off on their mini holiday. Have enough food to last till they go dinner wise and then will be aiming for a 3 day financial fast. I can eat at work. Bring home leftovers for teas for me. And I have no travel costs anyway.
Planning to fill my evenings with decluttering this year's school work which came home en mass, & trying to get back to listing OH'S comic collection on ebay which we have stalled on massively.
Everyone is still doing so well.
The Only Girl -I was besides myself with envy at your YS haul! Amazing stuff. 3 chickens for £2.50!!! Glad the checkoutsmart tip was helpful too. Might be worth checking both that and Shoptize to see if any of the items you bought are on there. If you can claim for them anyway it's double bubble
Mothernerd - Hope DS3 and girlfriend are helpful to you round the house and buy some food! I agree with you on house stuff why would you buy at the top of the market if you plan to gut it? Really hope you sell soon.
Calling - good luck with your first day back.
Apple - how rotten about the cat allergy. Hope you get home ok.
MissTara - great NSD count. You've worked your socks off this month well done!
WelshKitty - thank you. Well done surviving the weekend shifts as well. Hope you have a good week.
Bye for now

Morning all,
Mothernerd you've done loads on your house so please do not worry about the doors. The right buyer will come along and love your house, I bought my house because of the price tag and just redecorated to make it comfortable to live in. It still needs a new bathroom, kitchen, driveway, roof and lawn but I'll get there in the end and I'm comforted by the fact I didn't pay much for my house.
The only girl great YS bargains. In my arsda, between 9-10am they reduce their items on a normal day and between 2.30-3.30pm on a Sunday for the best bargains.
Bob I'm excited for you to have your financial fast! I'm hoping to have a cheap week, I have no plans but I'm worried about being bored. All my friends are on holiday or live too far away to visit them in the week when they're working all day.
Today will probably be a spendy day as I'm off to ikeea to get some furniture for the the temping job (petrol and expenses are paid for :j ) and will have a look at a few items for my house tooLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Thanks Bob first day back in work, not too bad. Boss happy to have me here, been lonely on his own last week as other boss still off sick.
First paid off another 30 pounds to Cards today so reached my 4500 figure. Can't pay anymore this week. Paid in total 220 pounds this month.
July
Had few unexpected spends, with visitors staying and 70th Birthday pressie.
Food/ Pets/ Fuel/bdays 238/200 not bad as unplanned pressie in that
Going out 31/0 - not budgeted for
Back treatment 25/25 treat budget? Not a treat really it hurt
Walking boots/ jacket 70/ 0 not budgeted for. Worth it no wet feet now
Roof repairs 25/0
Not exactly a successful month but spent 72.00 on bdays in total.
My freezer is empty so will have to do a major food shop next week.
Actually enjoyed using up freezer contents for a change. Fun challenge.
Made banana cake over the weekend and its so easy will do again.
Need to have a cheap week this week. However now need new dog bed and new door mats. Will look around for cut off carpet bits to manage for the time being, until sure dog is fully recovered.
Have to run will pop by tonight and catch up xLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Evening all! Hit my target and my stretch target for saving this month, and hoping to add £30 to that (what's left in my account at the moment!). Batch cooking went well, freezer is completely full though. It's really nice to be able to come home from work and just heat something up, rather than having to faff about :-)
Hope everyone's having a nice day in spite of the rain (might be sunny elsewhere but it's not stopped here all day!)Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Calling - Glad not to bad a first day back. I still think you've done great, especially with unexpected spends coming out.
Fmess - So you are not working this week? If you are worried about sitting around too much, could you volunteer at something? I appreciate with the amount of pets you have an animal shelter may be a busmans holiday but I bet there are tonnes of great activities you could get involved in to help keep you busy.
Some stuff I've done in the past - Eco volunteering, you find your local facebook group & go and join in whatever they happen to be doing that day. I did lots of cutting back hedges in a nature reserve once, & cleared a section of river bank another time.
Volunteering with old folk at a local hospital, read them a book, the paper, whatever they need.
Even the local library may be glad of help with the summer reading challenge, listening to kids telling you what they've read and thought of the book etc.
You get the gist
Academia - Sorry, am sure you've said somewhere upstream but can you remind me what your targets where and what your numbers are therefore for the month?
Was utterly delighted to log into TopCashback just now and find that the £31.50 cashback for my home insurance, purchased for the year, back in January, has finally cleared today! So I've nabbed that and made a cheeky PAD to CC2. Taking my total for the month including saving into my EF to £677.12 utterly blown away!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
