Hi all, sorry for the prolonged absence but had a very busy couple of weeks what with retiring from work, stepfather dying, his funeral and the work involved with that, and helping dd move, but I'm back all be it with all budgets well and truely smashed, but from now until the end of the month I will spend as little as possible, I have enough fuel in the car and shouldn't need too much in the food line (just milk and veggies) and I'm not planning on going far after two horrendous journeys down south.

Anyway off to catch up a bit on the thread, I have so many pages to read so off to make a cup of coffee first.

Holy crap on a cracker batman!!!! This morning has been flipping mental. Taken more in the first hour than almost all day yesterday. Queue me trying to cope with orders for bacon and coffee among a spectacular 3 toddler tantrum of epic proportions.

    Sounds exhausting.

Right all my payments for August are done and dusted - almost.

I have transferred amounts into my online piggy banks for Christmas and school trips, paid the minimums to my two cards with the main debt (both interest free), I have another credit card which is usually paid of in full. At the moment it is cleared but the car insurance for 2 cars is going on there today, I have all but £100 of that saved so that £100 will have to stay on there until next month. Usually I would pay much more than the minimums but this month we have an unbelievable amount of things to pay and I just can't.

Total amount paid off £228.33 but most of this is wiped out by new transactions - boo.

    Hope all this makes sense.

Fmess - hope your dog gets through his op ok. It's a very responsible choice to make for all the lady dog owners out there! Really hope you enjoy your takeaway I know how much of a treat that will be and how many you haven't had.

Academia - your batch cooking post made me almost expire with longing. Butternut squash lasagne is one of my all time faves! That does sound like a massive session you have planned.

Abundant - it does sound epic how everyone is doing this month. In fact as we hit the weekend I may ask everyone to post a big bold number of how much they've paid or saved this month and then do a July total to show how powerful this thread is! I think it's human nature to feel the 2nd half is harder. Don't worry you aren't alone.

Mothernerd - you are doing so well on all your house improvement and garden improvement projects.

Dolly - I am sure your beach break will be lovely even if it's not bikini territory. Thanks, it is part of the job at times being able to do nought to 60 in terms of a pace adjustment. My head may well spin off at some point ;) but until then...

Nanny - welcome back, hope life will be kinder to you from here on in. Hugs.

Well suffice to say it's gone off a bit now hence catching up on others posts. So far today £1 in tips and 1p roadkill on my way in. Has rounded up my total wombling score to £361 for 2015.

And as mentioned above, if people have completed their July payments now could they post their total debt repayment figure or savings figure in big bold letters between now and next Thursday and I will do a big tot up of how we've done collectively for July.

Wow bob, that sounds very busy, but good that the money is coming in. Thank you for your comments and well wishes for my doggy.

academia - please could you give me your recipe for the lasagne?

    Welcome back nannygladys and hugs

So I have transferred all the money I can for July and I have now paid off since my last payday £603.08 :j

Today is payday, so I have started my new budgets and have been food shopping. I have spent almost 50% of the food budget but I have most of the food for the month (definitely all the meat and bulky items).

Feeling pretty down this week but know that I just need to keep going and time is the best healer :(

Sorry you are feeling down Fmess. Well done on your brilliant repayment. I have started filling in on page 1 of the challenge next to each contender what they say their total is (me and you at the moment):D

Fmess - that's an amazing amount to pay off in a month.

I'll need to tally up my amount but will wait until nearer the end of the month to post it as I'll be able to add a bit more, hopefully £50ish :)

Yesterday was a NSD 15/20, today not so much as I've been food shopping.

    Hi everyone!

Sending hugs to Nanny, fmess and anyone else who needs it.

    Bob your wombling is amazing!

Well my first booking has been confirmed and the deposit has been paid. I even managed a bit of upselling and convinced them to go for the next package up, which is an extra £12.

Has been wet here today so we haven't been out much. Decided to dig out a hair dye that has been in the cupboard for months and colour my own hair since I can no longer afford (or rather justify) paying the hairdresser to do it. It's cheered me up a bit as my hair was really dull before and I just felt a mess all the time.

DS had rugby training this evening. It was cold and wet, but worthwhile as he got player of the week and got to bring the mascot home til next week.

I'm working all weekend unfortunately. Have put some overnight oats in the fridge to encourage me to eat breakfast in the morning (I have an awful habit of skipping breakfast) and have decided to turn one batch of the bolognaise I made into chilli. It will split between 2 days and I will have with a jacket potato. Have also prepped some chicken skewers for tomorrow night and will just cook off some rice when I get home to go with them. Am feeling fairly positive and organised at the moment, following my wobble earlier in the week.

A SFD. Estate agent has notified me about a viewing on Monday so that's my weekend spoken for. I have calculated from 27th of June to today and have paid £583.20 off my debt. Unfortunately it doesn't affect my signature figure yet but should do by next week. I also haven't deducted anything for expected interest, but all the balance transfer fees have gone through now.

Mothernerd - that's great news. Fingers crossed! :) I have used that figure to update page 1 but if that's not what you meant let me know.

WelshKitty - that's great about your booking! :j:j I'm working all weekend too. And am also a terrible breakfast skipper. I just never feel hungry till about 11am. But fortunately my OH makes me toast every day and I manage to eat it 3 days out of 5. I'm glad your hair colour has made you feel happy. Good luck with your extra work.

MissTara - Good luck taking the extra £50 off the total for July.

It has poured for England today here. It rained most of the day but from around 3 was torrential. Just as I was cycling home! But all was well. Heard on the grapevine that there had been an attempted armed robbery in my local area today at a bank. Was really surprised I must say. Makes you feel a bit unsafe.

Anyway keep those totals coming guys :)
