    Hi everyone...

Hugs Calling - sorry I didn't wish you those earlier...

Mothernerd - that sounds like a justified spend. At some point you have to buy some clothes. Go sit on the naughty step - but at least you'll now look fabulous and naughty!!!

Thanks for all the support. Tomorrow is a day off and we have already planned to do a big butchers shop so will do some batch cooking when we get home. Have also agreed to do some cooking with the children so will make some cakes for pudding (as we have guests coming for dinner) and some fish cakes for later in the week. I think a list of chores is a good idea and school hols are an ideal time to get the children involved too. Dh has already said that if I leave a list of things that need doing, he will try to get them done. I think it will help him as well as he will have something productive to do throughout the day. Thanks again everyone!

An interesting discussion about water meters/rates - being in Scotland means it's all included in the council tax I pay so I've never really thought about it before. I suppose though it means there's no way to save money on it.

Welsh kitty - I feel for you. My OH also suffers from depression amongst other things and is only working about 10 hours a week at the moment. Having a conversation about finances is difficult as he automatically assumes that I'm getting at him (which I'm not). If he's having a good day, he will tidy round the house without prompting but usually I need to ask and then its like he's doing me a huge favour by cleaning.

Mothernerd - glad you're feeling better.

Tea last night has been rearranged for next week as one of the girls was ill. I got a few things that we needed so it wasn't a NSD. Today and tomorrow should hopefully be NSDs.

I'm heading off to work at the moment - a last minute extra shift that I picked up yesterday, all extra pennies :)

Hi Bob, we also received a letter last Saturday about the smart meter installation. However, because we are in the process of moving to a different provider, I wasn't sure whether to have it done. FU might turn around and make us pay for it. Not really sure what to do about it. What do you guys think?

Today turned out to be a spendy day again . Unbeknownst to me, hubby took £20 from the grocery envelope and did a small shop on the way home from work. Not really needed as we have lots of stuff in the fridge and freezer and cupboard but I preferred not to say anything. It might be his way of showing me his support after my tiring night shifts. Might even be a surprise for me. So I am picking my battles and decided this is not the one to fight over. Surprisingly he was full of energy today. Upon seeing that I've tidied up the camping gears, he immediately proceeded to putting them in the shed, hoovering the floor while the dinner was in the oven (prepared by him) and now he is cleaning the fish tank. I. am definitely not one to complain.

Early start tomorrow so I am heading to bed now. Night night.

This made me chuckle. My DH takes a while to get going with jobs sometimes but when he does he is unstoppable and his 'getting things done sessions' can last days.

Welshkitty - the whole situation must be hard for you and DH, you're a trooper. Do remember to think of yourself first sometimes too.

Mothernerd - I do hope you enjoyed choosing and buying your new clothes, they sound lovely, they were needed and no one could ever accuse you of being extravagant so don't be too hard on yourself.

First day of 6 week holidays for us today. We are having a pottering day, I need to call at the bank and the library and am hoping my parents can pop round this afternoon but my dad has a hospital appointment so we are waiting to see what time he gets home.

DD is going to a birthday sleepover tonight, present is already bought and wrapped (so easy to get good value presents for girls/ladies as opposed to boys). I think I may do the grocery shopping tonight but I do hate it so maybe not.

    Have a good day all.

Not having best of weeks. Second day off sick today sciatica has taken over. Yesterday in agony unable to sit down all the pain down my lhs today moved over to the right. Going for treatment this afternoon couldn't get in yesterday so at least had a Sfd.

Dog has made a lovely mess the kitchen this am. Really struggled bending to clear up. Floor moped and need a shower to get my back moving, before hobbling with the dog out.

Need to buy different food for dog today, plus back treatment. Spendy day.

Well done Bob on your debt payments. I may have to spend on house, sure drainage from my sink is backing up to washing machine. Cleaned filters out yesterday crawling on floor was hell in pain. Need another pipe going straight out through the wall probably Cost £150-200.
