Hi well here feeling brighter today so I won't make the thread glum. :D

Back is tad better either that or the painkillers are working. Didn't sit down last night, did everything but. Nevermind it feels better for it and hair dyed as well. Hard job to do with backache.

Well done Bob on getting under 4K, jealous now. That could be my next target. Feeling like a greyhound here, chasing whatever the thingy is - Bob as I shall call it.:rotfl:

An action planned day Grandson to collect, and getting foot treatment later Think that is what put my back out, painful ball of sole of my foot, sure it has affected my walking - so money out again. Hopefully can claim it back from medicash.;)

Had a 5 pounds voucher for surveys today, Choose an M & S one can get food then. :T

Broke until next week now. So will work out August budgets, doing monthly shopping next week. Haven't defrosted my freezer yet, just couldn't face bending down last few days.

Blackberries tad early aren't they. Still have one batch left to make a crumble with, from last years. Raspberries doing well in my garden.

Hey everyone, long time no see! Well, I have been reading along :) Hugs to everyone with aches and pains or life's ups and downs, poorly pets and blown budgets - I would say be brave and look at any damage done and add it up - we can't learn from our mistakes if we don't face them (you don't have to post them here though!)

Things have been very up and down - I'm mostly very low and have started CBT, but have to try and do it myself for a month whilst the psychologist is on holiday :o

But enough of the heavy stuff! I am sitting on 19 SFDs at the minute and should scrape the last one today, maybe another tomorrow. My budgets are bananas within themselves, but all balance out in total. I haven't spent anything on fuel this month but more on food as my parents have been helping me with the garden, and more spends on stuff for said garden work, I also got away for a weekend retreat with the Buddhist centre which was much needed.

I don't get paid until Friday and have no idea how much it will be so I can't say what I've put to savings until then I'm afraid Bob.

Friday is also my 31st birthday, I wonder if it makes my mum feel old too Calling :D So there will be spends as we are having a family pajama party of junk food! I just realised it will mean only 14 YEARS LEFT to reach my early retirement goal, eeek.

My world of the strange has been realising how many tiny bottles of toiletries I have from hotels and deciding that I should just use them at home, and keep a few empty bottles to decant my usual products into when I go away. I'm freeing up space by using the little bottles, that will go manky anyway before I can use them on trips. My friend also revealed that she uses loads of body lotion, so she can have all the ones from gift sets that I have failed to find an alternative use for :D Oh and I made laundry detergent out of hotel soaps too and switched to white vinegar as softener!

    Evening everyone!

    Today = SFD number 18

Am pleased with myself today. I got approved for a foundation T*sco Credit Card. This may at a glance seem like a step back! MORE credit I hear you ask??!!! But wait..!

    1) I have consistently cleared my credit card for the last few months when the bill was due. I'm into good habits.
    2) My credit limit was only ever £500
    3) My current card has no benefits
    4) I can now collect extra clubcard points on my new one, and still clear the balance as before (closing my old card)
    5) The fact I was approved means my credit rating must have improved since I had those refusals earlier! Hoorah!!!

Now looking around at better bank accounts...

Have a cool evening people :)

    Hi Everyone

I had a really manic day today. Anyone caring to read the details can find them on the What Small things thread on the DFW board. Now its out I dont want to relive it!

Positives. I made a PAD of £13.52 & as Apple says of her payment, thats £13.52 I will never be paying off again!

The house is empty & quiet now the guys have gone away. I am not going to have the energy to do anything else but collapse tonight, after a hot bath, but my plan for the morning is to take a notebook, go room by room & make a note of any jobs I want to get done in them, I intend to use this boy free time to clean & declutter my house to within an inch of its life!

Calling - That is hilarious, nearly spat out my drink reading about the grey hound thingy being called Bob. I absolutely love it. Thanks!

    - I think its great you can collect clubpoints on your new CC. Good for you. And we all know that using credit gets you a higher credit worthyniess in the eyes of those in Grey Suits.

    MissTara
    - Well done you! High five coming your way, up top, dont leave me hanging :)

NannyG - You've had a real month of it. Please dont beat yourself up about the challenge. Life happens sometimes doesnt it. Big hugs.

Synonmous - Sorry you have been feeling a bit down, & have to face things alone for the next month. You arent alone because we are here, if you listen hard you can hear us, just like in Horton Hears a Who. Yes I am a bit mad and delirious tonight. But you get the gist. I can still add your numbers in when they arrive be it Friday or next Friday.

Fmess - Hope you get a good hedgerow haul. I was really happy to see some young teenage boys eating them straight off the bush today, its not something you see every day, and Im glad they still enjoy the free berries rather than smoking rollies in an alley somewhere :)

    Right Im off.

    Bob

Today I am grateful for dd's prescriptions being free, for my button stash, for lavender, for sketching with dd, for plenty of sleep last night.

  • Hi all, sorry for being AWOL again. I thought this week, being my "normal" week, working 9-5 and not on unsociable shifts would make me feel "normal." Instead it has completely wiped me out and I feel so knackered at the end of the day. The good news is, because I have been flat out by the end of my shift, I haven't spent any money, giving me additional 2 SFD's - 19/20 Yay. Yesterday I went straight to bed at 6pm and only woke up at 10 when hubby came home from a late shift. Today however, I resisted all temptation to have another all-night nap. I cooked a big batch of chow mein to see us through tomorrow. I am hoping it would be another SFD.. Hubby will get paid in the morning and we could then make another chunk of cc payment to take us down to the stretch target of £800. Will update you when that's done.

I have an overtime booked for Saturday which will give us extra money in September. We were originally thinking of going camping at the end of August but the budget won't allow it. Hubby booked some overtime instead.

I will catch up on your wonderful stories. Gotta go to bed. Night night.
