BT Sport fiver a month

Phoned 150 to chase my complaint which i made two weeks ago. spoke to a cheerful customer service man who after reading through my notes and going off to check something came back to me with two options.
1. I can cancel my contract with BT from today with no fee's
2. If i recontract for 12 months at the same discount price (£21 for BT infinty2 ) i was offered when i recontracted in April then i will get the BT sport package, all four sports channels for free.
I was told that this was due to BT changing my contract from what i was sold.0 -
I have been with BT for 30 years, im out of my last contract with BT about a week ago, I got one of the Sky codes.
I rang BT today to see what they could offer me, I was looking for unltd bband. unltd calls and bt tv the first person I spoke to I didn't inform them that I had a Sky voucher and she gave me an offer
for that package for box that couldn't record programmes would be £36.14 per month plus £35 activation fee, one that did record would cost £41.14 per month, I said I would speak to the wife.
I rang them back a couple of hours later and said to the next girl that I had talked it over with my wife and the prices were more than we wanted to pay and that I had this voucher for Sky and explained the details, she asked me to wait until she had a word with the manager, came back to me with a deal of £28.14 per month for rental, unltd bband, unltd calls, free bt tv and dropped the activation fee as well, so I found that interesting in that the tv charge according to them would be dropped and not added in august either.0 -

As we also got a £125 Sainsbury's gift card when we opened the 12 month contract as well, I really can't complain.
I've just been on and effectively done this as well. I need the CL games but I also need Sky (and Sky Sports 1 and 2 - which I couldn't get without infinity - on their own is no use because I watch stuff on Sky Sports 3, 4 and 5 as well). So I negotiated down the broadband rate as this was also up for renewal anyway. He was going to give me it for £16.85 a month - I put on my best disappointed face and said that's only 15p a month less than I'm paying. I ended up with it down to £13.85 a month. I have two Sky boxes so that's £13.85 for broadband, £5 for each of the Sky boxes for all the BT channels and that all comes to £23.85 while we are paying £22 just now. :T0 -

Thats entirely consistent with other peoples dealings with them. If people object, like say "Oh I have to pay an activation fee? Nah, never mind." They will make you an offer, which is usually just to drop it.
BT and Sky and in a war, offering discounts galore, and its subscribers who are going to benefit. You only have to ask or object to get them. On both platforms.0 -

Like many people I accepted the "free" BT sports as part of my broadband package. I didn't want the upgrade, but the BT online link to "downgrade" forces a new 12 month broadband package, when I have 6 months still to run on my current contract. Surely this is unfair trading practice?
I had to web chat and then get someone from accounts to call, and then they still pushed the new contract to retain the BT Sport lite as they now call it. Surely I am intitled to the 6 months I have left. But not according to BT. So my Sports cancels at the end of July.

lapdancer,
A member of BT staff (forum moderator) posted the following a few days ago:Thanks for all your questions about downgrading to BT Sport Lite and re-contracting. The rules are a little different depending on how you receive BT Sport, and where you are at in your existing contract, so we thought we’d post up this guide answering your most common questions.
If you are an existing BT Sport Pack customer on BT TV or the BT Sport app and online player you’ll be able to downgrade to BT Sport Lite with no change to your existing broadband contract status
For BT Sport Pack customers with BT Broadband and Sky who are downgrading to BT Sport Lite, there are two main scenarios:
If you are out of contract on BT Broadband, or your BT existing contract is coming near its end, you will be asked to agree a new broadband contract when you downgrade to BT Sport Lite. You don’t have to take a new broadband contract, but if you are out of contract or your contract ends you will start to pay £6.75 for BT Sport Lite so that’s why we ask.
If you've received a different response to the the above, then I suggest that you complain to BT using the link at:

Virgin Media confirms BT Sport Europe carriage ......
The particular image suggests that AMC UK is coming to BT Sport Pack customers on a Sky box "at no extra cost", extending access to BT customers beyond the BT TV platform!0 -

I called BT Sports and although I have 6 months to run on my contract they said I had 3 options
1. Pay the upgrade £5 per month from 1st August
2. "Downgrade" to Lite but with a new 12 month contract
3. Remove BT Sports
I choose 3 because I may want a new provider in 6 months.
Seems totally unfair practice - will try again after seeing the BT note you posted.0 -

It is unfair practice. BT's definition of a a contract coming near [to] its end, is three months or less. Not six as thats only half way through. Use that in your email to them.0
