It really disappoints me when MSE takes the word of a company as gospel and then distributes it to hundreds of thousand people who trust it implicitly......
me too, I'm disappointed at MSE. now, some people got to deadlock and complained via resolver. how did you get on please?0 -
Hi All,
Just had a letter from BT saying that BT sport is going up to £5pm unless I renew my contract for 18months.
I have been with BT for 25 days so am furious. Spoke to them and they are going to get back to me.
One of the only reasons I moved to them was because they said I would have BT TV and BT sport for free for 12 months as part of my package.
I paid extra to have BT TV installed and have even bought a new TV as they said I needed HDMI for it.
I dont want to renew to an 18 month contract as I have a deal for 12 months. I want to know my options and thought you may be able to help.
I know I could just cancel but I will never get the deal I was on with my old provider (Virgin Media). Plus I have already forked out so much (including 12 month line rental in advance).
I feel they have really mislead me (and probably many others) in order to get me to move to them.0 -
Read the long BT Sport thread in TV section .0

I have read one of them but it does not say much about people who have just joined. That is my problem as I am stuck, the only reason I moved to BT was to get BT sport.
The guy on the phone said I joined literally a day before they announced the changes so he was not sure what the implications would be.0 -
I've sent a complaint via resolver, its been more than 7 days and I've had no response. Sent a reminder yesterday, I've asked for termination of Phone and BB, contract which has just over 12 months to run, or the original three channels for free as agreed.
Should I take it to the ombudsman now?0 -
mark_dumpleton, thanks for the above BT link, it explains all clearly. But for completeness here it is in full -

We're aware that some customers have raised concerns with Ofcom about changes we've announced to the BT Sport Pack. In particular, you want to know whether you need to recontract, and what the prices will be.
We've asked Ofcom to direct you here so we can fully explain the options and follow our customer complaints code.
What are the changes?
BT Sport Pack is free for new customers who take BT Broadband and BT TV on a new minimum contract term of 12 or 18 months. BT Sport Pack is also free for existing BT Broadband and TV customers who recontract those services for a further 18-month minimum contract term. Customers that don't take BT TV can still view BT Sport on one of the alternative platforms - see below for details.
Customers watching the BT Sport Pack on Sky can get it for £5 a month if you're within your broadband minimum contract term. If you're not in a minimum contract term, it's £11.75 a month. You can always sign up for a further 12 or 18 month BT Broadband minimum contract term to watch the BT Sport Pack for £5 a month
If you watch on the app only, then it's £5 a month
If you only get the BT Sport Pack from us on Sky (without BT Broadband), then it's £19.99 a month

If you don’t want to take a BT TV contract, and don’t want to pay £5 for the BT Sport Pack from 1 August, you have the option to downgrade to BT Sport Lite – a new service that launches on 1 August.
BT Sport Lite includes the following great content:
38 exclusively live Barclays Premier League matches
Aviva Premiership Rugby
Scottish Professional Football League
Existing BT Sport Pack customers can take BT Sport Lite without the need to enter a new minimum contract term and it is free of charge to BT TV customers and App Only customers.
For those watching on Sky, it is free if you're in a BT Broadband minimum contract term, but £6.75 if you are outside your broadband minimum contract term and don't want to re-contract.
We have written to all our customers to let you know what the options are, what you need to do if anything, and how to get BT Sport Lite. New prices come into effect on 1 August 2015.
A final option for customers is to cease BT Sport, which we will do for you without penalty. The minimum 30-day notice period will be waived. Please note that if you have a minimum term left on your BT TV, BT Broadband, Calling plan or other service then that still stands.
If you still need help
We've set up a special team to help customers with their BT Sport options. If you'd like to get in touch, please complete this short online form > We'll then call you back within 48 hours.
If you prefer, you can call us on 0800 434 6063. We're here 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 6pm on Saturday.

HAHAHAHAHA...
PEOPLE LISTEN UP...
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU MAKE A COMPLAINT TO THE OMBUDSMAN SERVICE they will pay £550 per complaint even if you lose its cost them money. They want to charge you £60 a year extra for the same services.. Instead make them pay £550 for the privilege of increasing your costs .. I think its fair. They wouldn't like the additional charges to their business and it might make them wake up and realise how they are making us their own loyal customers feel.
I am MOVING my services regardless.
I WILL NEVER be going back to BT ... i do not like paying money to treated like this and well i won't be simple as !0 -
I'm in a similar position. My BT Contract (Broadband, TV & Calls) started mid June, when I spoke to someone online to try and clarify they said there would be no extra charge to receive the BT Sports pack while I was still in my initial 12 month period.
Yesterday I got the same letter as yourself saying it'd be £5 per month, so for the moment I'm doing nothing.0
