BT Sport fiver a month

After phoning this morning, I can avoid the £5 a month charge if I renew 18 month contract for my BT Infinity 2, line rental & BT TV.
(according to customer service agent Kelly, 11.16am 20/06/2015
I have a year in contract left on BT TV, 4 months contract left on line rental, 6 months contract left on infinity 2. I don't want 18 months contract for them all.
I do wonder how correct all this info is...
My BT Sports will be cancelled from Monday. Takes them 2 days to cancel the service to my BT TV if they instigate it.0 -

Same experience as I have had - promises to call me back with a good deal which never happened.
Even a firm promise to call me at 1 p.m. on a particular date didn't happen.
Couldn't downgrade me from Infinity2 to Infinity1 because, in their words "it's actually cheaper for you to have Infinity2"....
(This even 'though I can never get Infinity2 speeds because the fibre goes to the cabinet, but from there to my home it's copper wire).
Go figure....
And there was I about to move the TV to BT Vision from Sky....0 -
Phoned again, to BT agent Tushar 11.42am 20/06/2015, seems I have been 'misinformed'.
I should not have had to cancel, would not have been charged.
Declined offer to reinstate BT Sports (for free, no new contract) come Monday, not confident that it would be plain sailing. Shall source other than BT when out of contract if possible.0 -
Just spoke to BT on livechat.
My infinity broadband contract expires June 16 and my TV Essential contract expires in January 16.
I will not be subject to the £5 a month charge while I am in contract for TV, so I can review this in January. I do not need to extend my contract to keep BT Sport for free until my contract expires.
I actually thought my TV contract was for 18 months rather than not being aligned to my broadband but I did take them out at separate times.0 -

It is totally correct, been trying to sort it out for MIL.
She only took BT TV in Jan during their sale, so has infinity 1 and BT TV both in contract and it is £5 for BT Europe unless she renews for a further 18 months.
Gets better though, if she does this then she loses the £13.50 discount from the Jan BT Sale.
So lose £13.50 or pay £5, hmmm let me think.
BT are on a different planet it would seem.
But then again why are we surprised, pay over the odds for the most overpriced White Elephant in the world and then we are shocked they pass the cost onto customers.0 -
So once i can jump ship from BT because of the contract increase I was looking at Origin Broadband anybody had any dealings with them as they seem to be very cheap and the 2year advanced line saver seems a good deal0

Check them out first as they shut down the network last year without any warning .0 -

I had the same but you lose the discount only after the period it runs to ends. So if you signed up for a years discount, you get that discount for the year but then move to their standard rate for the remaining 18 months. If you were told you lose the discount as soon as you renew for the 18 months then call them back!0 -

This is totally incorrect. See post here (and the ones after) -

I have had a reply from BT regarding my BT broadband (in contract) / Phone & free Sport stating that the Fibre is a separate contract from my Sport. No surprise.
Does anybody have any documentary proof about the Sport offer being for the full term of the Fibre contract or is it just that our lack of barrister training led us to assume that it was?0
