Apple Pay

I've been using Apple Pay whilst Santander are paying cashback and it's mostly been working fine but today it went awry. It initially seemed to work. The reader beeped and my phone displayed 'done' but it hadn't worked so I went through the procedure again. Same result. I paid by another contactless card in the end and it went through without issue.
It's handy to have as a backup to the physical cards but once Santander stop giving cashback I don't think that I'll use it very often.
I've had this a handful of times (namely my local Co-Op) but it's few and far between.
Do you bank with TSB at all? As they are offering 5% cashback (until the end of this year, capped at £100 spending) on contactless/Apple Pay too. It's available on their Classic Plus account.
That's what I'm going to revert to once Santander's offer ends. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
what Santander offer is this? Ive had a look and can't see anything on my IB offers or had an email about this offer. I use apple pay occasionally if I'm in a rush or there isn't a queue meaning I don't have time to get my card out ready etc but if they have an offer on i will use it every time0

I do already use my TSB debit card but as I live in London I am able to use contactless a lot and get through the £100 limit easily.
I can't find anything about this offer either. I'm sure that I got an email In November or December stating that they were paying 3% until February. I was abroad at the time and didn't start using it until around Christmas. I'm starting to worry that I dreamt it now!
Edit: I have now found the offer but copying the url here didn't work. Just google Santander Apple Pay cashback and you'll find it.0 -
Well tickle me sideways with a feather! I guess sometimes it does pay to have marketing mails after all! I had better start using my CC for everything and not just where I can claim cashback now.
The link above doesn't work Ballard (thanks for taking the time though:)), but Ive popped one in and its about 3/4 of the way down the page. For those who don't want to read, its an additional 3% on credit card transactions unit Feb 29.

It's not going to make you rich but I'm glad to have brought it to your attention.0

Santander's offer is great; it's nice to earn 6% on fuel purchases (I've not been to London to use it on public transport) and is going someway to help when my account changes to £3/month come April. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. I use my TSB cards first as they pay 5% on max £100, then my 123 card.0 -

It's a help but it's only around for about 3 months so it'll only be £9 or so.
This is the wrong thread but what the heck... I can live with the £3 fee increase from Santander. My direct debits give me over £4 cashback and there's also the 'My Offers' section which have netted me just north of £50 in about 18 months.
The credit card increase is a little harder for me to justify but I've got 0% on purchases until the end of the year and even though this money is just sitting in an account paying 1.5% I'm still better off keeping the card and paying the fee. I shall have to review the situation come December.0 -

It had been working fine for me all throughout December (I only use it on TfL) and now first week back at work, 3 days out of 5 this week have had problems with it and had to resort to using the same card but contactless instead. Same as poster above, once the Santander offer is over I doubt I would be using it anytime soon.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. r.b.s have been offering 1% rewards for contactless payments during 20015 and since switching to 'new rewards acc' 1% continues through 2016.
