Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but TfL users can travel for free on Mondays until 14th December when they use their MasterCard with Apple Pay.

Isn't this very common problem (error "97 seek assistance") confined to American Express? I thought it was something to do with Amex requiring live authorisation of every transaction, whereas Visa and MasterCard don't.
Not sure, I get caught at least once a week with someone in front trying to get the iPhone to scan.0 -

Got my first rejection using Apple Pay today. Not surprisingly it was in B&M. Had read on here others having problems there. The lady on the till just said its "not authorised" so I had to use the actual card instead. She gave me a receipt to show the failed transaction.
Thought I'd give it a try as using my card for contactless there never works well. Ok elsewhere.
Apple Pay did at first appear to work ok from looking at my iPhone though. I got the same ping and tick onscreen, plus the card notification alert just the same as when it does work. Its also showing up in the (SANTANDER) spendlytics app.
Hope I don't get charged twice - though I got a receipt confirming it failed.0 -

Once Santander get notification of the failed payment from B&M it'll disappear from your pending transactions.
I have seen similar posts where Apple Pay has failed there which surprises me because anywhere there is contactless it *should* work. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Had the weirdest thing happen when I tried to pay in the Coop. The card reader showed "authorising" for longer than normal but the payment was eventually confirmed by the usual ping. Then the cashier asked me for a signature, on the slip his till had printed!
The amount was £18.47, and I had used the Santander 123 credit card umpteen times before on Apple Pay, including at that Coop store. The transaction is showing on my card statement as an Apple Pay transaction.

Maybe the terminal has not been updated or something.0

I've been using Apple Pay whilst Santander are paying cashback and it's mostly been working fine but today it went awry. It initially seemed to work. The reader beeped and my phone displayed 'done' but it hadn't worked so I went through the procedure again. Same result. I paid by another contactless card in the end and it went through without issue.
It's handy to have as a backup to the physical cards but once Santander stop giving cashback I don't think that I'll use it very often.0
