The upgrade is not coming in July. Its starting to be available in July. You choose when to do the upgrade (or not). You can reserve the upgrade and still not install it for months.
My guess is it will be a bit like Steam, the upgrade will be sent to your machine before the actual data so Microsoft servers don;t fall over on the day, but it won;t be released to be installed until the set date.0 -

In light of what? I find it astounding people try and find issue with a free optional offer!
I ran the beta without issue,I see no reason to find any with the retail product.0 -

I have windows 7 OEM, actually I have two partitions on my pc with it on both partitions, runs fine.
1 If I do upgrade to windows 10 say on one partition, will the windows 7 work ok on other partition I wonder?
2 Can you revert back to windows 7 if for some reason you don't like 10?
Thanks,
John0 -

How would you reinstall 7 now?0 -
I have 2 Windows 8 machines and will happily update once it's been out a few weeks.
Seems I will have to update to 8.1 first though, what a faff, don't see why 8 should be excluded when 7 isn't!
Need to research proper backing up too as at the moment only docs/photos are automatically done/some device drivers saved externally and both machines arrived without an install disc.
(i'm not totally irresponsible- I do have a friend who works in IT who would help me out!)0
