I just spun up my Windows 10 VMware Fusion VM, and it grabbed my mouse pointer and wouldn't let go. My CPU utilization also went through the roof.

I'm not sure if Win 10 was doing something, or its interaction with VMware Tools went on a wonk.

Hi there. How are you today?
    You:

Currently running windows 7 If I upgrade to windows 10 will i still be able to use my printers and other devices . also will office 2007 still work ok
    :
    20:33:21
Hi. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. There is a big possibility that your drivers may not work properly.
Since Windows will be updated, the drivers must be updated too.
Office 2007 is only compatible with Wind 8
It is not compatible with Windows 10.
In this case you have to upgrade to a newer version of Office too.
By the way, may I have your name please for me to address you properly?
    :)
    You:
    20:35:53
FrankThis happenned to me before when I upgraded from XP to W. So it is up to the manufacturers of printers to update the drivers
    :
    20:36:21
Thanks Frank. That is absolutely correct Frank.
If there is a new launch of Windows, manufacturer's are also doing their best to update drivers to avoid compatibility issues.
    You:

    What about office 2010?
    :
    20:39:32
As of this moment as I check on our source here. Office 2010 is not included.
Office 2010 is compatible with Windows 8.1 so far.
    You:
    20:40:46
Sorry, I meant I have Office 2010 on my laptop. can I use it if I upgrade the laptop to w10. I also currently use windows live mail. will this still be used with W10
    :
    20:43:00
I see. Unfortunately we don't have official information about all compatibilities of Windows 10 yet.
Since it's official launch will be on October.
On July the Windows 10 our customers can use is a trial version.
I hope do Office 2010 will work with Windows 10.
So as what I am sure of, Office 2013 and Office 2365 are compatible with Windows 10.
So as Office 2016 which will be launch next year too.
    You:
    20:45:41
The July version is a full version NOT A TRIAL
So if i accept the upgrade i will lose office 2007 and possibly office 2010?
    :
    20:46:59
It's partly a full and trial version since we will on the process fixing any possible issues it encounter.
That I can not give exact answer Frank, as I've mentioned earlier we don't have official compatibility information for Windows 10 yet.
But I do hope these versions of Office will work properly with Windows 10.
But we will make sure everything will be great for our customers.
Is there anything else I can help you with Frank?
    You:
    20:50:14
You say quite specifically on page 1 that it is a full version - not a trial.
ok I cant afford to lose office or buy new printers if that is the cost of this free upgrade. Glad I checked with you first
    :
    20:51:24
I understand Frank. That is the free upgrade to Windows 10.
But it will officially launch on October.
You don't have to worry about that Frank, since we address these issues immediately and fix all issues on computer at your satisfaction.
Is there anything else I can help you with Frank?
    You:
    20:54:16
No . Thanks for the info. Bye now
    :
    20:54:23
    Your welcome.

What does the "Windows 10 App" say when you click "check your upgrade status"?

If in doubt, stay away. Windows 7 is supported until 2020 I believe.

    Or just wait a while.

If you wanted to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free, you have until July 2016. I bet a lot of the answers to your questions will be a lot clearer and well-known by then.

This answers the question how MS earns money from the "free" upgrade. I'm so happy that I left the MS (in-)comptibility train many stations ago.
