I have 2 Windows 8 machines and will happily update once it's been out a few weeks.

Seems I will have to update to 8.1 first though, what a faff, don't see why 8 should be excluded when 7 isn't!
MS wants everyone to be on the latest version of each OS before the update. So Win7 + SP1 or Win 8 (With 8.1 Update) in order to be upgraded.

Not sure if this has been posted but here's a run down of what you'll loose when you upgrade to Win 10 and what versions you'll be geting... :

Need to research proper backing up too as at the moment only docs/photos are automatically done/some device drivers saved externally and both machines arrived without an install disc.

(i'm not totally irresponsible- I do have a friend who works in IT who would help me out!)

Any reason you are not on 8.1 already?

You CAN upgrade from 8 to 10, just not via Windows Update. You update via an ISO.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

looking down that list of features, there's rather a lot that I (and a lot of people) won't use due to the hardware and/or BIOS constraints... makes you wonder what MS are really up to......

2 Can you revert back to windows 7 if for some reason you don't like 10?

    Thanks,

How would you reinstall 7 now?

Thanks for reply I have acronis backups of my windows 7, but at the same time if I upgrade to 10 I want to be able to revert back to windows 7, if 10 doesn't work the way I like.

    Thanks

Yep, TPM is their DRM Holy Grail. That is of course until some Linux whizzo cracks it.

You just have to love the conspiracy theorists.
It wouldn't be so bad but there are others on here that think it's an informed opinion......
