no win 10 cannot be any worse , and I would suggest that people "locate" a win 10240 iso (as I have done!) , clean boot , ISO is upto date so very few updates are needed , it actually loads in less time than a basic 8.1 load.

I had to load a OS on a NUC that I use for HTPC , the nuc has a m,2 card , and a hard drive , I needed to load a OS to use disk tools and format the M.2 to ext4 ,

as stated above a lovely fast 10240 (64 bit) running on my PC , seems a lot more smoother than win 8 , which was a lot smoother than win 7,

if anyone needs an iso , PM me and I will send instructions

this time it "hung" for no good reason

TBH sounds like your h/w is getting flakey, maybe disk going bad or CPU cooler full of fluff.

Apparently the CPU inside my laptop isn't up to running Windows 10:

Oddly, a friend who has the same CPU inside his laptop is running the preview (10.0.10240.16384 x64):

If Pro users don't install certain updates within eight months of release, they won't be able to install security updates anymore after that time period.

What do I do if KB3035583 installs but I do not get the Windows 10 banner in the systems tray?

I have just done a clean install of Win7 Pro 64 bit on a HP DX2400 desktop and downloaded SP1 and all subsequent updates.

    three choices

1: click on it and reserve your FREE copy

2: leave it alone and forget it

3: do a quick "google" showing how to remove it , and then stop this KB download
