Windows 10, Cortana etc. starting to be quite handy.
I've been entering txts within Cortana on my laptop and Windows Phone was doing the donkey work of sending them out.0 -
Just in case you thought you'd disabled the Windows 10 snooping, they've sneakily renamed it!

Well contacted Microsoft online support and said blah blah I do not wish to upgrade. The person said the only way was to ignore. I asked him to so it will not install without my express permission and he said yes.
So who knows.0 -
Providing Windows 7 still gets supported for another few years, which it will, I'm happy to use it. I'm quite sure MS will make it more compelling to upgrade to W10 by making some features no longer work with earlier versions.
I'm not opposed to changing things for newer versions and the fact it's free at the moment is great but in my opinion, and that's all it is, my opinion, Windows 10 doesn't offer me anything I particularly want or need and in fact my productivity suffers when using it. I'm sure I will get used to it but it's my choice, much like I still like to use my old fashioned wood plane rather than my electric planer

Well I've tried that programme as a standalone and yay no more get Windows 10 icon and no more Windows 10 is ready to install in the updates.:j
How do people come up with these things? I wish I could do it.0 -
I will never update to windows 10, I don't like to be spied on and not have any control on what is downloaded on my PC.
And I don't like the extend they are ready to go to trick people into upgrading to windows 10 neither.
I have used windows for donkeys years now, didn't like the look of Wind 8, so gone from XP to Win 7, and had great hopes for Win 10. I have no doubt some people are quite happy with it, but since what they tried to do with XBox One, and now this, I have realised that Microsoft cannot be trusted anymore.
It seems that Microsoft is using us, the consumers, as guinea pigs to test the updates, before the businesses have to download those updates:

I will try Linux on my old NC10 netbook to start with, and see how it is. But I will have to find an alternative to Windows.0 -
I am confused - the date of the REGISTER article is 25-11-15 but it appears to be referring to an ancient update (from May 14 - KB3022345) -Which, incidentally - I do not have on my PC ...0
