Sorry, late into this thread so haven;'t read all 82 pages.

Is there any way of stopping the Windows 10 spying/keylogger?

Services - Connected user experiences and Telemetry - Right click and stop - then set to disabled.
This stops it reporting back.....there is no keylogger as such, that was in the insider versions.
Keep on top of things though, they changed the name of it in the last update.

Does anyone (clearly not MS technicians) know of a way to sort this please. I am happy with 7 but I keep getting messages on my laptop urging me to upgrade. I have also had a mail from hotmail or whatever its called now, saying if I dont upgrade my emails may not work properly.

According to the thread below the requirement in the email from MS that to continue to use live mail you needed to update the Live mail application - not that you needed to update the entire computer to win10.

If you're looking for a 1-click solution, Spybot seems a safe bet. Not sure how quick they are to upgrade their program when MS tweaks their end...

I was just asking for future reference. I'm on a borrowed computer with Windows 10.

Is there any quick way to set the menu to a more 'classic' view (say windows 7?).

    Ah ok, it's a download.

I'm temporarily on somebody else's laptop so don't really want to make download changes to it. I was hoping it would be in the settings already and easy to just switch back.
