Pin commonly used stuff to the taskbar. Right click, pin to taskbar. Is that difficult?
Pin other commonly used stuff to the Start Menu. Right click, pin to start menu. drag it round the start menu, right click to resize. Is that difficult? You do not have this option, for big, live, commonly used apps, in Windows 7.
For the less commonly used stuff, click start, all programs. That's the same number of clicks as Windows 7. If some of you people would take, seriously, 30 seconds to learn stuff, you'd have a happier life, instead of simply criticising change.0 -

I was a mainframe contractor so not concerned with the PCs and local networks but moved around and the story was pretty much the same everywhere. The last place I worked (several years back) were buying machines that had Win 7 logos but proceeded to flash them with the standard company desktop image which was Windows 2000 at that time and quite probably still is.
Aye companies tend to be very very slow to update the software they're running as the OS, often because they need to thoroughly test everything before they change over, and in a lot of cases may be using software that won't run on newer OS's (the cost of the computers and OS's can be a lot lower than the cost of updating other software to get a version that will work on the new OS*).
I think there are still companies and organisations using versions of Internet Explorer that are 10+ years out of support simply because they've got software that uses a web interface that won't work with newer versions (and thus they're also stuck with the old OS).
And these are just Windows machines, there are more specialised ones that might be running software and hardware that is 20+ years old.
*I believe some CAD packages for example can easily cost a couple of grand and use hardware dongles to prevent piracy (and that dongle may not work with new OS's).0 -

It's not difficult; it's tedious, long-winded and idiotic to only be able to easily access programs that you have "pinned" somewhere, or from a long alphabetic list of every program.
Honestly. If some of you people took 30 minutes to learn how to use Linux and got your head round choosing a proper desktop environment, you'd have a happier life instead of just blindly accepting change because you've been distracted by the sparkly graphics and *gasp* animated live tiles. Ooooh! Pretty! I bet you loved that animated paperclip in MS Office! :rotfl:

Try Windows 7? Or Linux...?
Or stick with Windows 10 and try ClassicShell if you're a sucker for punishment!
Seriously, thought, it's yet another well-known problem afflicting Windows 10. Google has some links that might help:

For GT60
Was this just after the latest updates?
Did it persist after reboot?
You could create a new user account this should give you back the Start Menu if it does you can transfer your files etc to the new account.
If it persists you can try a system recovery and keep your files.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Windows 10 Build 11082 now available for folks on Fast Ring. This will become the 'Redstone' release next summer.
So far running well on my HP laptop, in fact seems faster© than the November Update.0 -

I have never needed to use my computer for business but wouldn't say it is just a toy. I have to admit to being a bit of a gamer and tend to mostly use my Windows 10 OS because of that. Apart from that though, it is used for graphic design, label printing, word processing and other functions. Windows 10 can do it all. However, so can Linux Mint 17.3 using Inkscsape, gLabels, etc. Steam Games provide a good number of games for the Linux platform.
As regards learning how to use the platforms and UI, I'd say Windows 10 is easier than Linux but both involve a learning curve. I think most people trying Linux wouldn't have a, "Wow! that's better" feeling after only an hour or two. Nonetheless, when got to grips with, it can perform the tasks that most home users need. I find I can sing the praises of both Linux and Windows 10. They both work.Error! - Keyboard not attached. Press any key to continue.0
