You can pick up genuine licence keys, maybe on ebay or at a computer fair.0

As one who has received help from Nifty, I can tell you that what he actually does is to take people by the hand and with infinite patience he gives them the benefit of his knowledge and shows them strategies (step by step) how they might overcome their difficulties. To people like myself, his help has been a God-send.
He will need infinite patience with me, however, he needs to clear down his PM folder....I have a link to send him from the upload site he recommended...I can get to that from a PM but not from the email of the PM...and it's not me being dopey :rotfl:

No, it's definitely been used this month, and certainly long enough to check for updates.
It would only have been used in the evening, so I wonder if the update service was busy with US downloads?
Perhaps I should have forced updates?
I was going to revert to Win 7 and grab Win 10 that way.
2006 Dell laptop limited to 1x 2GB ram due to a knackered slot, 64GB SSD and it's all worked well.
Laptop stuck on Inside Build 10074, has been working fine for browsing and email, but updates have become totally messed up.
It had been doing security updates during July, but no build updates.
I'm now using a Microsoft login after finding that this is now a requirement.
Things have not improved.
It is now trying to download an updated AMD HD5450 driver along with the associated AMD High definition Audio Device driver, also a Realtek High Definition Audio Driver.
The above drivers are definitely not needed for this Dell laptop, interestingly my desktop has an AMD HD5450 graphics card.
I've tried renaming the Software Distribution folder to swerve incorrect updates, but everytime I restart, the previous wrong updates download.
I'm going to reinstall Win 7 and let it update to 10.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Install Pro or above“Windows 10 Home users will have updates from Windows Update automatically available. Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise users will have the ability to defer updates.”0 -
Thanks Nifty, I don't have a spare Pro or above, in this case, only a Nifty supplied Dell Win 7 SP1 Home Premium.
This is only used as a spare, or when trying to sort a problem at a different location.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Are you sure that I supplied you a Home Premium disc?? I don't think so.
Let's take a look via PM.0 -
