It's a Cyberpower laptop, based on the Pegatron A15HC. Intel Core i7-2760QM CPU @ 2.20GHz. Also has an Nvidia GT540M GPU as well as the HD3000 chipset, but there's no option in the BIOS (that I can see) to disable onboard graphics.

PS - just rebooted so I can check the BIOS (which is unchanged from when I got the laptop) ... Aptio Setup Utility, AMI v2.01.1204

Oh switchable driver, temperamental. Take it Nvidia Optimus latest is there too ?

This is from lenovo but if it's switchable you sould see this:

Yes - this laptop has Optimus, but there are no BIOS options per that article.

    Thanks for the pointer though.

That means it's not switchable then

Seems not much can be done until you can get hold of that Driver.

What's the consensus of Window 10 users here, are they satisfied or not? I'm trying to upgrade mine.

I've just upgraded Dad's from Windows 7, and he's really happy with it. I really was quite surprised as he's almost 82, so I was expecting a lot of questions, but he's taken to it very quickly.

I quite like the look of things so far, and intending putting on my own laptop when I get back home from my holiday in the UK, although will be more of a faff, as I've treated myself to a new SSD.

All my 5 machines are running well on 10, from a home-build tower PC to a teeny HP Stream 7

My personal opinion is, it's terrible.

I switched to 10 and had nothing but problems. Amongst other things, trouble with emails and Windows couldn't download any Security updates of which there were many.

After trying to sort things myself and wasting hours mucking around with it, I got in contact with Microsoft Help for some assistance (very very long wait times which I think shows the problems people are having) and each time they wanted to take remote control of my computer which I declined. I said you know my problem please just give me some written guidance.

Their help was that I should muck around with the computers registry

In the end I couldn't and didn't want to waste any more time on it so I switched back to my previous system which lo and behold works absolutely fine. Emails are no problem and Window updates download and install with no problems.

You have one month from downloading Windows 10 to switch back if you want to. When you do switch back however you do seem to retain bits of Windows 10.

I am sticking to what I have got now for as long as I possibly can.

I am not very good with sorting computer problems. If you are, then you may want try it. If however you are like me, you may struggle if you encounter any problems like I did. In that case, if you really want to switch I would leave it a while and let them sort the glitches

    Yep, happy with it :)

Unlike Up For Grabs I had no problems. Well actually just a minor one, which was caused by Kaspersky and went away when I installed the latest version of the av.
