You will likely need to phone activate. I tried but got a woman who was useless and eventually cut me off(she couldnt understand 8.1 to 10 with a hardware change at the same time.
I really need to call again.

    Thanks.
The oem situation seems clear enough, and as it should be.
I have 2x retail versions, 7 Home Premium and 8.1 Pro, which I will want to move sometime, but until I'm happy with the procedure, I'm holding off.
    Currently holding off on everything.
First will be old laptop currently with 10TP, which had stopped updating.
I will stick Dell Win 7 (Thanks Nifty) back on and allow it to move to 10. Then do clean install.
    Move along, nothing to see.

Well I upgraded to Windows 10, and quite liked it. But .... I rolled back after 2 hours because it wouldn't recognise my laptop screen - only the TV plugged in via HDMI.

Searching seems to suggest this is a known issue with some 2nd Gen intel boards with HD3000 graphics. There's supposed to be a beta driver available via Windows Updates but nothing shows up when I try.

I can't live without the laptop screen so back to Windows 7 I have gone.

Sigh. Have you tried actually clicking on it?

In fact I made it easy for you - I linked it in my previous post.

sigh? How about you go $!£* yourself?

I clicked your link which is headed
Intel® HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows* 10 32-bit (N-Series)

Whereas if you click on the drop down list it gives a 64 bit option. If intel feel its usable on the 64 bit system, why wouldnt I?

    Intel® Driver Update Utility

There is no Download link to the Production Driver. It simply leads you to Windows Update.

And guess where that link takes you to? Exactly the same page!

How do I know? Because I tried it! Did you?

Thanks Nifty. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Had an hour or two with Windows 10 yesterday.
    - definitely a huge, huge improvement on the windows 8 catastrophe and would certainly recommend anyone who is inflicted with Windows 8 to upgrade.
    - You certainly need to go and get the updated versions of your software afterwards, especially anti-virus and drivers.
    - if it's a business pc and you have no plan B, back up the entire disc (op system and all) before upgrading.
    - start it on a Friday night, it'll take a day to sort out the ensuing mess...

    - my win7 machines are working just fine and if it's not broke, don't fix it.
Having said that, I wouldn't have any issues with buying a new machine that has windows 10 on it (a few months down the line). As I've said, at first glance it looks like a proper operating system.
