When I had Win 10 installed it wasn't obvious that Windows Defender was disabled due to having another AV installed ... at least not like it is in Windows 7. Do you find the same?0 -
I don't like the way that Win 10 appears to have permissions to do things on it's own - without any user interruption..
Such as switching on my audio at reboot - which I have noticed it doing several times on my laptop !0 -

OK After a few weeks of "trying" Win 10 - how many of you are satisfied and plan to remain with that Operating System ?
How many are unhappy and going to return to the previous OS ?
Everything else (apart from the built-in snooping) is an improvement on 7 and 8 from my viewpoint.0 -
Definitely keeping on all machines. The more I learn the more I'm warming to it.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

There is no Download link to the Production Driver. It simply leads you to Windows Update.
Still no dice for me ... laptop screen not being detected ... so I'm back to Windows 7 again.0 -

Nope. It doesn't show up ... perhaps it thought I already had it. In Windows 7 the driver version is 9.17.10.3347 ... in Windows 10 it was slightly higher - 9.xx.xx.4xxx (I can't remember the exact version number, other than the numbers shown, but I know it was higher).
The driver utility didn't find anything needing updated.
I just find it weird that my laptop screen is simply not detected at all. If I start a reboot and unplug the external monitor then I see the Win 10 logo for short while and then the screen goes black permanently. If I plug in the external monitor then that screen shows up.0 -

What is your laptop's description exactly?0 -
It's a Cyberpower laptop, based on the Pegatron A15HC. Intel Core i7-2760QM CPU @ 2.20GHz. Also has an Nvidia GT540M GPU as well as the HD3000 chipset, but there's no option in the BIOS (that I can see) to disable onboard graphics.
PS - just rebooted so I can check the BIOS (which is unchanged from when I got the laptop) ... Aptio Setup Utility, AMI v2.01.12040
