Can someone confirm that all prepaid travel cards allow you to buy at the current exchange rate - my husband and I are going to South Africa next year but the rate is really good at the moment and we want to 'buy' our currency now?
Many thanks0 -

Hi
Just signed up for Revolut on my iPhone. Pretty impressed so far.
My only note would be that when photographing my passport, it's not obvious that the picture will be taken automatically when the edge triangles are green —!but perhaps I missed some instructions? Not a big deal.
I've been using FairFx for a few years; but I'll move over to Revolut, at least until you start to apply fees etc., in order for you to make some money. Not that there's anything wrong with that :-)
Questions:
1. If I have both UKP and EUR on my card, then if I make a card payment in a shop in EUR, then presumably, the EUR on my card are debited first, and then any remaining EUR due will be converted from UKP at the current rate. Correct?
2. It seems that I can convert back and forth between UKP, EUR and USD; and there are no fees, plus it's a good mid-market rate. Which sort of means that I can play the currency markets on Revolut, and end up with a profit on my phone if the rates move in the right direction. Presumably that is something you may put a stop to if it seems that's what a user is doing? :-))
3. What is the maximum I can load my card with?
4. What is the maximum I can withdraw from at ATM on any day?
Thanks, and keep up the good work.0 -

I downloaded the Revolut App the other day on my Android phone then ordered a card. I also put £10 on the card and got my £5 MSE bonus, then converted £10 into USD. No problem to that point.
Over the last couple of days I've been receiving various messages from Revolut that begin "Your card is being delivered today, Please". When I unlock my phone to access the Revolut App I can't then see any of the messages. So today I sent them a "Support Message" from the app asking why I couldn't see the messages. After about 5 minutes I got 3 messages from them saying firstly that my card was ordered on the 1st January!!!! and that it takes around 5 days to arrive. I replied saying I assumed they meant 1st September and also reiterating the question why I couldn't see the previous messages. About an hour later I received 3 messages all at once but when I opened the app I couldn't see them. Sent another support message to them but heard nothing since. That was about 4 hours ago.

I have just returned from America where I used my new Revolut card with no problems. I got a much better rate than others in my party who used other cards / cash. The only unfortunate occurrence was that the ATM owners charged a transaction fee. I tried the card out at home before I left, and there was no transaction fee.
I've just recommended the card to my friend who spends a lot of time in Spain.:T0 -

Many but not all ATMs in the USA charge an ATM withdrawal fee. I managed to avoid them in the main.0 -
Just back from New York using my Revolut card with no problems at all - in cash machines, paying for bus tickets and in shops and restaurants, even managed to top it up from my UK bank account when i found some WiFi.
Very impressed with the service and will be recommending to all my friendsBeen stupid but have no regrets starting to slowly sort my finances now the kids are growing0 -
The new Revolut card is of limited use. You need an app which is not available for Windows phone and if you Android phone is a bit old it will not work with that. A good idea but as I said limited use.0

A1. Yes that is correct. The money is converted at the time of transaction.
A2. Hi, we don't stop this. It is possible for you to end up with more money once you convert back.
A3 & 4. Card spending is limited to £30,000 or equivalent per year with a sublimit of £5,000 or equivalent per 96 hours meaning that you cannot exceed £5,000 or equivalent in card spending in a 96 hour period. Cash withdrawals from ATMs are limited to £2,000 or equivalent per day.I downloaded the Revolut App the other day on my Android phone then ordered a card.
