    Hi,

    Quick feedback about revoult:

    1. exchange rate - not so great 07/09/15 - 1GBP buys 33.88CZK (Postoffice: 34.21, Travlex 34.55, xe (for reference 37)

    2. withdrawal - deposited money and wanted to withdraw it to - after one week no luck, support mentioned something about "fixed issue" but not so imo

    3. card - 2 weeks after the order, no luck here, interestingly my wife got the card already even though she ordered one week later

    4. app has bugs (android) e.g. pin of the card does not show up - re-installation of the app helped

    5. might be a good way to transfer money to someone abroad, assuming this person has GBP, EUR or USD deposit account - hasn't tried it yet though

    6. support - I like the idea, they are quite quick with response

    7. it does not seems to be possible to export statement

    8. quite difficult to get some basic info about the company e.g. do they keep your money in a separate account, what's the structure of the company, reg details, etc - after a bit of digging found out CTO name: Nikolay Storonsky and CTO Vladyslav Yatsenko

    1. If I have both UKP and EUR on my card, then if I make a card payment in a shop in EUR, then presumably, the EUR on my card are debited first, and then any remaining EUR due will be converted from UKP at the current rate. Correct?
A1. Yes that is correct. The money is converted at the time of transaction.
Your answer does not correspond with what you or your Revolut colleague stated in the other thread on July 23rd, as follows:-

"... if you have balances of £100, $100 and €100 and withdraw $150 then at the moment (23/07/15 13:30 GMT(+1) £1 = £1.5604) therefore $150 = £96.13 so the amount will be deducted from your GBP balance. If you tried to withdraw $200 with balances of £100, $100 and €100 then the transaction would fail as there needs to be enough to cover the $200 in a single currency."

Did you mis-read the question, answer it incompletely, or has the payment procedure changed?

DCC - Dynamic Currency Conversion is implemented in some ATM as an option to be chosen (eg. PKO, BZ WBK/Santander)
Seems that you chose the option to be charged in Pounds.

They are both true. The reason why it will withdraw from the GBP amount is because there is not enough money in the USD account to withdraw from. So it will take it from the GBP account. The GBP account has the most money in. If you are in a Eurozone country it will always try and take out Euros first. Same for USD and GBP.

You are still missing the main point. The OP is assuming that he can split a payment in euros between his EUR balance and his GBP balance, combining them to make up the amount required - and you appear to confirm this possibility. This is opposed to the previous information that there needs to be enough funds to cover a payment in any single currency in order for it to be processed. Please be clear and indicate which is correct.

    Hi eDicky,

There needs to be enough funds to cover a payment in any single currency in order for it to be processed.

Say you have a 10GBP, 10EUR and 10USD in your account. You want to make a payment of 20GBP. If you were to try and pay with our card, this would be rejected. To pay for this 20GBP product you will have to convert £10 worth of EUR and USD into GBP to make 20GBP (or the equivalent in any currency, as long as the chosen currency is worth £20), You can do this instantly and for free via our app.

  • I travel a lot both in Europe and Transatlantic, The Revoult card is perfect, bank rates and NO fees at all, easy to top up. I have used on line, retail and to send payments both in Euros and Dollars. Customer service is excellent.Should you loose or mis-place your card you can block instantly on the app, then oooppppsss you find it 10 mins later you can unblock, normally once a card is blocked you have to wait for a new one.Simply the best rates and so simple to use, everything is up front no hidden surprises. Give your balance on screen so you know exactly what is available and you get a receipt for all transactions so you have a log of all spending. This for me is far better than all the usual conversion rates fees/currency fees etc.
  • Fantastic works perfectly, I have used in Europe , USA, retail and on-line.
  • Hi.
My daughter is travelling for a few months and I would like to know if I can top up her card from the UK if her funds run out? Also if she changed her sim to a non UK sim, would she still be able to access her account? Thankyou
