    Ow! Ow! Ow!

This morning, I had a bad tumble on the stairs, which are wooden, no carpet, and fell onto the back of my thigh and banged my big toe, which was already iffy.
I have a huge, humungous bruise on the thigh, ironically in the shape of a smile, where I suppose it hit the 'nose' of the step, and a slight reddening of the toe. In the right position, the thigh doesn't hurt, but if I lean on it, it really hurts. The toe is ok in a supportive shoe, but now I'm in bed and shoeless, it hurts! :(
I wouldn't mind, but I sprained the knee on that side, three weeks ago, and it's only just starting to get better!

Feeling very sorry for myself. :(

Mind you, I'm very grateful I didn't break anything! When it first happened, I had a bad pain around my ribs, and thought I may have cracked one, but luckily, that wore off quite quickly.

I must admit, the bruise on the thigh is quite spectacular! :D

    Oh dear Pyxis!!!
You are lucky you didn't do more damage. Have you put frozen peas on all the sore bits?
My nan used to swear by honey for bruising. Might get a bit messy though.
In true MSE style you'd have half a meal to snack on though by the time you are recovered!

Oh Pyxis, hope you're ok! Glad you've not broken anything!

katy-i think i've heard of honey being used before though no idea how it works, i think it *may* have anti inflammatory effects?

Weird confession of the day-i used to have a bowl of frozen peas and sweetcorn as a snack......my nan also used to let me eat frozen chips  but i certainly do not recommend doing that!

Oops! Be careful Pyxis, we can't have you suffering! Gentle hugs and medicinal alcohol!

That is so annoying, Calley! Here there is a drive for 4 cars but no allocated parking space per flat. My tenancy agreement says first come, first served but we did have a neighbour a while ago who insisted that the spot outside of her window was hers. So annoying!

Hope you are feeling a bit better code, big hugs.

That's great Dragonette! Keep trying it!

Aw Melly, I know it is difficult socially when you have those tendencies through watching my friend. Not difficult for you as such because that is how you think but difficult to make other people understand it. It is fine with me, I found it a great help as I said, to have a friend who could be impartial and unemotional when I was wailing hysterically! She also taught that sometimes it is ok to just walk away from a situation simply because you didn't wish to be in it, something I had struggled with a lot previously.

Well, it's a muscle relaxant, you see! :D

Yes, honey is anti-inflammatory. It's also antibacterial .

    Don't worry! It's only beer!

  • Oh good, Pyxis! Have some more!

It was very difficult for my friend, MU not because she had problems but because everyone else did with her and just didn't understand her. My other friends were very uncomfortable around her and couldn't put their finger onto why. That would be because she was faking everything! A lot thought she wasn't very nice but she was neither nice, or nasty. She was just totally neutral most of the time unless she had a good reason not to be.

I'm not sure how you use the honey, MU. I don't think she ever told me.

She did tell me that to keep ants out of your house you have to draw a blue chalk line around it.
Also you shouldn't keep shoes under the stairs as goblins get in them.
And eating whole beetroots stops you being constipated. They have to be whole though, not sliced.
  • Now I want to put shoes under the stairs...
