How did she get diagnosed as a sociopath, WaS?

Do you know where she is now?

    That was a fascinating post.

    Sorry to be selfish.

Not impressed with the garage doing my MOT.

Wont be using them again. Firstly was told to get the car to them 8.30-9am this morning. Only to be told that the MOT was booked for 2.30 this afternoon.

Just rung because it should only take 40-60 mins max to do. To be told oh yours is the next one to be done ring back at 5pm!!!!

I had errands that I wanted to run today. So my day has been messed about. And no idea if the car is going to be ready by 5pm.

    calley,

All the hassle will be forgotten when you realise that it has passed its MOT.

It was the most interesting friendship that I have ever had, whitewing!

She was diagnosed after a lot of extreme behaviours, some illegal. She was also a heroin user because it was the only time she felt something. Heroin gave her a feeling of pleasure, she never felt it at any other time. She was sent to counselling for drug abuse and after talking to her for a while the counsellor decided that she was far out of her depth and referred her onto psychiatry.

My friend saw no rational reason why she shouldn't be honest (she was very capable of lying if she wanted) so was quite open to the psychiatrist about her lack of emotion. In fact, she told him the truth as an experiment to see what he would say, it amused her. She was quickly diagnosed and asked if she wanted treatment which she agreed to because she was bored with people reacting oddly to her (as she saw it) because she reacted oddly to them! It had become an inconvenience. That was why I was allowed into her world, she had observed that I was good at making people feel comfortable and she wanted to learn how to do that. She had also concluded that I knew enough about mental health not to run away when she told me. Befriending me was a logical step for her.

By the time I met her she had quite a lot of CBT and was rather good at faking it. It took 6 months before she stopped pretending with me and I realised all of the emotion she had shown towards me was a total act. But this was far better because I had gained her trust and few people did, for her it was the equivalent of a very close friendship. It is extremely rare for a sociopath to admit to it because it could leave them vulnerable and their lives are very much based on controlling every aspect of their environment. It then became far more rewarding for me because I would regale her with a long emotional rant and instead of faking sympathy she would say "No, you are being weird again, none of that makes sense. Look at it this way instead" She was extremely grounding to speak to and always brutally honest and logical. She was never swayed by emotion which was really helpful to someone like me.

We still write to each other a couple of times a year. She moved house and got a new job and doesn't have time for friendships. She is completely driven by her programming job and is incredibly good at it. She doesn't have a relationship because she has no need for one. For a sociopath it's as simple as that, she doesn't speak to me much because she can't fit me in and has no reason to do so! No emotion involved. She cuts people off constantly and never looks back, there is no emotional connection to hold her there. I have to live with that, when I told her that I really missed her she didn't understand why at all and told me to get another friend instead. I found that hilarious and so typical of her, she has no empathy whatsoever. She doesn't miss me because that again would be an emotion that she has never felt but seems to remember me with some tiny bit of fondness somewhere so she does keep in touch occasionally. Maybe one day she might think of something that she needs me for and will talk to me a lot again.

She is a fascinating person to know and I care a lot about her even though she would have no idea why I do and would probably see it as a weakness on my behalf.

I hope it passes. I know but 1st time customer and they did not even ring me to let me know they were running late.

Should have stuck with my usual place.

    It failed!!!!

Something I thought it might fail on. And so thats about £50 to get it through on top of the MOT.

Seems to be computer glitches hence the delay. Just wish I had know this morning what time the appointment was as I would have taken the car round closer to the time!!!! And I could have done all my errands.

Fingers crossed my dad can take round to Aldi tonight so I can get my lopper. And hope they have one in stock still.

I have had an absolute toilet of a day. I have ordered Chinese food because DH is out and I bought loads so the delivery guy thinks there are 2 people, rather than me being greedy. DH is not going to be impressed if he gets back before I've eaten it all. He really disapproves of takeaways and I barely had the energy to make it home, let alone cook.

Hope everyone else is having a better day than me. Sorry about the MOT calley.

Thanks for sharing about your friend WaS. It's really interesting.

Apologies to ensure everyone else about the lack of specifics.

Going to cuddle DA dog til my food arrives. I really want to have a tantrum like a toddler.

Code you had a bad day. you eaten some junk food oh well. Sod everyone else is what I say.

Actually good news they managed to source and fit the part and I picked it up before 6pm. So nearly £90 lighter but a legal car.

Couple of advisory but will get my dad to take a look and see what we can do.

Actually if you feel like throwing a tantrum have one. Scream and stamp your feet if you need to. I would LOL!!!!

    That's me WaS
Mother is a sociopath I have tenancies (cut people off and not be overly bothered)
One of our friends watched me when out once and asked me why I did something
Worked room had it in palm of hand then got bored and took myself off
Told her realised was being my mother so stopped

ETA also frustrated the hell out of some other friends as there was a girl I found annoying and boring, she used to bad mouth me and I used to look through her if we were out in a group as to me it's a waste of time
