Indie, does your mum's dog have some sort of brain damage?
We have no idea. We got him when he was 17 months old and we (and the dogs home we got him from) don't know his history. We had him checked for something a few years ago because of how fat he's getting; but they found nothing overly unusual. That may explain the issues with his knees; but we really have no idea what's going on with him.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Oooh, ok thank you, Melly! My thyroid problem causes dry, flaky nails which could be part of it but I am scared that it is because I have bit them for so long and damaged them. I want long, glamorous nails!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

No you dont WaS they get in the way.
mine grow like weeds (like my hair) only just started taking care of them and getting annoyed at how easily nail varnish chips0 -
oh
meant to say, meeting in an hour and a half and I am half asleep frantically downing fluffy coffees in an attempt to wake up.
Meeting with the HA Customer Services Director at work Friday morning at 8am despite being fairly certain its a waste of time0 -
I don't think biting your nails would make them crumbly WaS - more likely to be a combination of the thryoid, possibly medications, and maybe diet? My nails are always short because I'm a mucky so-and-so and it's easier to keep them clean. I always wonder with long painted nails what might be lurking underneath that you can't see.
Isn't B7 meant to help with nails etc, although I've no idea what food it's in.
Go in to your Friday meeting with an open mind Melly - you could well be right but they may just surprise you.
Gitdog is an anxious dog, so well suited to being on this thread. He has a low excitement/stress threshold and when he goes over it he jumps and mouths and at times is unable to calm himself down. So when he mouthed me he wasn't being nasty. We'd got to the point where he'd stop jumping when I told him to but for some reason this week it's back to square one again. I ended up having to pin him to the floor as he just couldn't stop which isn't a good look in public - having to hold your bull terrier down when most people already think of them as devil dogs. If he carries on, I'm going to have to consider a muzzle for him.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Gitdog and Boo are twins.
Boo has regressed recently and we have had a few nips (over excited due to the smelling of girls)
my pet hate is the fair weather dog walkers, who have their badly socialised dogs off the lead and use the phrase 'he/she is only playing'0 -
Good luck for the meeting, Melly! Funnily enough when I got nails that were slightly 'there' rather than bitten right down I scratched my face to pieces by accident, I still do at times. I am not used to having these things on the end of my fingers and they are sharp!
I shall look up B7, thank you, elsien. It is so frustrating because I haven't bitten them for two years and they are in the same awful state as they were when I first grew them. My thyroid likely does impact them a lot, my very dry hair hardly grows and my skin is also very dry so it makes sense that it would affect my nails too. Oddly, one thumb nail grows fine, just the one...
Aw, poor Gitdog. It does sound like you are doing all you can to help him. Would the trainer have any idea of anything new that you could try?Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Little Sod gets like that Elsien. He doesn't seem to be able to control himself at times. I've found I can now spot when he is heading that way and remove him from the situation, but if it does get too excitable the only thing to calm him is to completely ignore him and shut him out of the room for a bit.
I think hormones have a lot to do with your nails. Mine were awful but are now lovely and strong. Don't think they will stay that way though!
Might go and hibernate in the fort for a bit. My brain hurts today and am no further forward with my dilemma.0 -
So
Bearing in mind that the HA are well aware that just popping in is not something I tolerate as it sets OHS OCD and anxiety off to silly levels, why would they just pop round today to talk about the car park?
Firstly it tells me no bungalow
Secondly it upsets my OH0
