it's the British Fireworks display thingy.
It started last night and I thought it was someone dragging their wheelie bin about.:rotfl: And then I realised what it was. I was hoping that due to the rain, it wouldn't go ahead.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hello idea and welcome! You aren't alone in how you are thinking at all. When I used to work I would sometimes feel the same, all I did was work, clean, eat, sleep and then Friday or Saturday was my pub night, same faces, same place, same drinks. I often felt is this it? It wasn't a bad life, I was a lot luckier than many but felt discontent.
So I varied things, I took on voluntary work, did free online courses and started a (cuddly toy!) collection. Sometimes we need to try something different even if just once to remind ourselves that there are other opportunities out there if we wish to pursue them. If it goes wrong then we may end up feeling happier with what we have, if it goes right it opens up a whole new world to us!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Definitely not alone idea. When I feel in a rut, I try to learn something new, even if it's watching a new YouTube instructional video or downloading an app to learn a new language. At the moment I'm using duolingo to learn Portuguese. Eu falo uma poquita Português!
Sometimes it's as easy as finding a new TV programme to watch. We have Sky and Netflix so tend to binge on boxsets.
Today I've been mega busy with work. I started something at 1 and next time I looked up it was 5.30 and I hadn't eaten lunch.

I've never been able to do a french plait (the one where it takes up all the haor of that makes sense) so sat watching a youtube video with Swain and was practising on him :rotfl: (strange yes but he does like having his hair played with and i can happily sit there for a few hours plaiting itits relaxing....)

Thanks again all, I have done it. I left a message on a French tutor's website a few days ago. She phoned me back and of course I did nothing. But you guys have spurred me on to call her back. I'm booked in for a lesson next Tuesday. I am a bit scared, but excited too (I think??)
I'm loving duolingo for French. It's a great site for learning while playing. I tend to dip in and out though, should do some more really. I didn't realise that they did lots of languages. Portuguese sounds really hard though. I'm mainly just attempting to remember the stuff I did at school many many years ago.
French plaits xxmessedxx up? I would love to be able to do one of those too! I've just about mastered those fishtail things for my DD, but she won't sit still for me to practice unless it's a diversion tactic from going to bed.0 -

Yay! Glad you've booked in for your French lesson! I have a dummies guide to Spanish somewhere in my cupboard back from when i was going to learn Spanish, so you're being a lot more proactive than i am! Really hope you enjoy your lessonThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

For everyone else (and possibly Pyxis too, as I didn't check any of the spellings so it might be gobbledygook), before I started learning Italian I'd already known my Italian friend for several years, it was going to Italy for my brother's wedding and liking it so much there that made me decide to learn the language.
Nope, you're all right, understood every word without needing the translation. Jolly good!
Only cominciare misspelt, but I understood it anyway! Buonissimo!(I just lurve spiders!)

Thank you to xxMessedUpxx for your words. I feel like I'm just being silly and I should be grateful for what I have, but sometimes, it's like work, sort out child, attempt to tidy house, sleep and round again we go.
I need to find a hobby....that way I'd have something to look forward to.
Fantastic fun!
Don't you dare say you can't sing! Everyone can sing! A choir voice isn't the same as a solo voice at all!
It combines health benefits, (exercise......amazing what muscles you use when you sing!, and oxygenation, and endorphins!), with lots of laughs and smiles, and you meet new people, you have a laugh, and you even laugh a lot!
Oh, and did I mention it's a great laugh?
There's an idea, Idea! :j(I just lurve spiders!)

A rock choir scared the living daylights out of me! Can everyone really sing?
I do like the idea of laughing a lot though. My DD laughs a lot and this is one of the things I love about her so much.
Why is it that when we grow up we forget to laugh?0 -
I can't sing. I sound like a constipated walrus. But me and DH make up songs about DA dog anyway.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
