    Thanks

No it does not. One job I hate is cleaning and washing up.

But I use to bung the bleach down the loos at work and clean the sinks. Then do the washing up that other people should have done themselves and cleaned and kitchen sink.

But I was getting paid for it so did LOL!!!

    Yours

    Calley
I'm bloody terrible for cleaning at home...yet get me to work and i will clean the whole damn shop in 20 minutes :D It's gotten to the point now where my managers actually ask me how on track we are, and just tell me to do whatever i need to do :rotfl:

    Hello all,

Coming out of longterm lurkdom to see if you lovely people can help me. Today I went to work like normal, relatively happy, but my boss can sometimes be a bit of a crazy person, mostly likeable, but she does have a tendency to meddle (and not tell you what she's done) which means that I sometimes don't have the full picture that I need.

Usually it doesn't bother me, but today it's just been downright annoying.

But that's not it. I'm kind of left with the, 'is this all' feeling today. I've got a good job, it's mostly ok, I have a lovely DD and husband, but I can't help feeling fed up. What is up with me?

I don't do a huge amount of stuff out of work as I don't really know what I enjoy or what I want to do, but honestly, how can I be one of those people that goes to work, pays the bills and is happy with what they have? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I'm just wondering what motivates others, is work just the means to have a life out of work, and am I really saying that I need to find myself a life?

Oh dear. Sorry for the ramble.

    Idea xx

Idea, welcome out of lurkdom :)

It sounds like you're feeling a bit like you're stuck in a rut and questioning everything. I think you're not a lone in doing that, and a lot of people probably question what the purpose os especially at work. You say you have a good job, lovely DD and husband, but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to have off days. I have a lovely bf, and a job and i feel like that at times too. On the surface it looks like there's nothing to worry about but deep down there's usually more to it. Although i do enjoy my job, and they've been supportive with my MH problems i still have days where i think, is this it? Is this my future? And then i start panicking cos i'm not sure if i want to still be doing this job in 10, 20 years time. I feel like i want more, but i have no idea hat the more actually is if that makes sense? Or how to get to it. What motivates me? I'm not sure, part of it is me feeling like i'm giving the finger to my bipolar and saying "screw you, you're not holding me back anymore", part of it is working enables me to have a more independent life without the constant worry i had whilst on ESA of my benefits being stopped (though dont get me started on tax credits :o ), and then in other parts its just nice to have money.

Sorry i;'ve not really offered any solutions, just want you to know you're not alone in feeling like this.

I'm trying to plan my evenings tv viewing, for now its Pointless, followed by some benefits programme, followed by Don't Tell The Bride, rounded up with some 24. I have 6 days in work after today so making the most of tv whilst i can!

Is it just me who finds there's nothing really worth watching on TV? We have all thosse channels and just a load of rubbish! Although, I am currently enjoying Two Tribes on BBC2. (well, it's on at 6pm) I seem to be watching far too much Nothing to Declare atm.:o

Generally there's not much on, but n0ow and then i find things to watch. Its partly why i'm rewatching 24 (that and i'm trying to justify my netflix subscription!). The tv licence is included in the rent so its not an extra cost.

My problem is that half the stuff i'd like to watch is always on when i'm at work! Thankfully most is on catch up. Swain has Sky and even then i don't think there's as much i want to watch (they have it mainly for the football....oh yeah did i mention i've become a pseudo Chelsea fan? :rotfl: i actually quite enjoy watching the footie just never had my own team to support)

Thank you to xxMessedUpxx for your words. I feel like I'm just being silly and I should be grateful for what I have, but sometimes, it's like work, sort out child, attempt to tidy house, sleep and round again we go.

I need to find a hobby....that way I'd have something to look forward to.

I'd also like to put a box of hotel chocolate chocs into the fort. I got them for my birthday and I'd like to share with you lovely people.I read often, but post rarely, so I'd like to give something back.

It's not just you, idea. That sounds very much like my life, when in theory I should have more time for myself as I don't have kids. I like my job, but if I've decided a 4 day week would be far preferable!
I think if you start off by pushing yourself to try things when you find the ones you like they then become more motivating. I've pushed myself out of the house a few times when it would have been easier to say sod it and stay at home, and I was glad when I got there.
It doesn't have to be anything hugely exciting - one of my regular weekly things is my social dog walk, because it's meeting new people and involves cake.
It's ok to say sod it sometimes to the things you "should" be doing instead of the other bits. I've just joined a new garden club - hopefully it'll be fun but if I don't like it it doesn't matter and I'll try something else.

Shove the chocolates my way and I'll save everyone from themselves.:D.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Fireworks???? jesus its not even november, that i can understand (as annoying as it is even then). Some people are so selfish, they don't think of the effect it has on people (who might have sensitivity to such noises) or pets (that get scared too)

You're not being silly, if its something bothering you then it should be taken seriously.

I could do with a hobby myself :o When i was off ill, i enrolled on a collge course, doing drawing and painting, i didn;t do it for anyone else, but for e as it was something that interested me and for an hour or to a week it gave me an escape and something fun to focus on :) Is there anything that you feel would interest you? I think sometimes when you're working, or married and have kids sometimes those roles overtake everything else and you perhaps don't have as much focus on YOU as your own person, so maybe have a think about what you'd like to do for yourself

Oooh hotel chocolates....go for it! I like my crisps a bit too much but there are other chocolate lovers who will ore than happily help you with them!
