Thanks for the advice Pyxis, it is very useful. I can't really reply to your suggestions, but please know they are useful, along the right lines and I am considering my options0

In a similar situation I found the Samaritans helpful, just to talk things out without judgements being made. In our families circumstances letting on that we knew and that certain things were not ok was enough to protect people, via a family discussion. It should have been a police matter but that was a step too far for the people concerned. People may get hurt (emotionally) whatever you do or don't do but don't forget to protect yourself while you're looking out for other people .All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Oh dearHe makes my parents dogs sound like angels. One appears to have had a bit of a strange turn again. Not too sure what happened. Mum said it was something about he'd walk normally, (he has some issues with one of his knees) tends to just stare into space and commando crawls.

Oh dear, naughty Gitdog! Were they intentional holes though?
I'm sure Little Sod can eat his quota of biscuits for him for a little while.
Maybe get him some rubber dentures?0 -
Oh Gitdog! What are we going to do with you?
I am definitely feeling a little more upbeat today, had a good run and stretch last night and woke up in a hug sandwich this morning - OH on one side and the dog on the otherlovely feeling first thing.
Love to all, and caramel shortbread for the duvet fort!

Pyxis, what would any of us do without you, your advice is always so spot on!
Susan, what a lovely photo! I love manatees, in fact when I was 12 and we had to do a 'mini talk' in English class I chose Manatees as my subject!
Hope your arms are OK Elsien, naughty Gitdog!
MU - don't let Swain feel guilty about his phone dying, I'm sure it's not your fault, just a co-incidence! I'm so sick of things breaking after I was the last one to touch them even though the two things aren't related! The theory about the power surge a) seems a bit odd as it it wasn't plugged in properly it wouldn't have been receiving any charge and b) wouldn't be your fault, how can you control the power?!
Flybaby - I agree that some things just don't agree with certain people! For some reason, every watch that DH has had has broken. Often the battery dies way too soon but weirder is that the pins in the straps come out so he'll be waking along and it suddenly falls of. I've never known anyone else have such bad luck with watches! He doesn't even mistreat them, he only wears them outside of work and never for sports etc. He really wants an Omega but it's just not worth it, even if we could afford it!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
:helllo: Susan!
MU - your OH should buy a surge protector. I have come away on hol with one, with dire threats of what will happen if I plug anything in without using it (especially as I'm camping on top of a high hill!)
So.... HIS fault, not yours. We all know that MEN control all the electrickery, don't we?
Hugs and squishes, must rush xxxxxxx Miss you all xEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
MU, not plugging the charging cable in fully should do no harm, it's either got a connection on all of its pins or it hasn't. If it hasn't, it won't charge even if some voltage is coming in on some pins. If it has got a connection on some or all pins and there's a power surge then which gets through the transformer in the charger then it makes no difference again, it'll get fried either way if the phone doesn't have over-voltage protection internally.I think men get very protective over their gadgets.

I wondered why Sir Pugliet had been so quiet:
