Parents are odd things. My mum calls me fat all the time and tells me it's for my own good. And also won't medicate her depression because obviously hers is far worse than mine and no medication will touch it. *eyeroll*
I love her, and I'm glad she's in decent health, but she drives me round the twist sometimes.
Big hugs Calley! We understand even if your dad doesn't.

Thanks.
My dad always use to go on about me being fat when I was younger.
And the other day said he liked my hair colour as he wondered where is his little blondie had gone.
He also likes to comment on my housekeeping skills. He has had my mum at home for 48 yrs cooking and cleaning and looking after his 3 children she bore him!!!!
This is not a trigger but something thats a bit personal.

He said something to my husband many yrs ago. Which makes me believe he only married my mother because she was pregnant. As it sounds like he was seeing someone else as well. And as far as I am aware my mother does not know.
And he had affair about 3 yrs ago as well. So hardly a bastion of virtue!!!

I was feeling a bit needy today already and his comments has just made it a lot worse. Thanks dad.

D'oh just had a brain wave :rotfl:
I have spare waterbutt in the shed. As the 1st one is nearly full. I changed the bucket over for the waterbutt under the leaking gutter so double the amount of water.
I am dense sometimes lol!!!
So no more rushing out to move an over full bucket and tipping it in to the other waterbutt.

HBS - thanks for that website, really going to be useful for me.
Calley - so sorry your dad felt the need to make diminishing comments. Did you let him know his comments were unhelpful?
I recently found the THINK principle which I sometimes really want to give to people who seem to have forgotten how to be nice0 -
Can't seem to get photobucket pic to work - trying again0
