I will get hubby to look later, not something I would dare mess with!
!
Why not ask him to show you how to wire a plug and change a fuse?
It's really easy, once you know where each wire goes! And changing the fuse is as simple as changing a battery!
I suppose because most things come with a plug attached these days, a lot of people may not know how to wire one. In the olden days, every electrical thing you bought, you had to buy a plug as well, and wire it up yourself before you could use it!
In prehistoric times, the wires were black, red and green, which made it easy to remember that Live = danger = red; black is a neutral colour= Neutral; green' the colour if nature = Earth.
Then they changed the colours to brown, blue and green/yellow.
So I thought, red is close to brown so Live. Black is close to blue, Neutral (and blue rhymes with neutral!), and green is like green and yellow!(also, daffodils are green and yellow and grow in Earth!)
Horrible thought! When I was a child, plugs had round pins! Eeeek!(I just lurve spiders!)

I am 43 and I remember a set of xmas lights that had a plug with round pins. when I was a kid.
Well had a massive pullover today. I live 5 min car journey from the local tip. And they close it two days a week. Being tuesday and wednesday. And now open from 10-4. Anyway took an hr to fill the car and get to the tip and back again. I was in queue for 30mins at least. And then someone half dozen cars back decided there time was more precious then the rest of us. And over took all the cars and pushed in the queue ahead of us.
Then when I got in the tip people parked every where. making it impossible to reverse park in to the spaces. If it was not tree branches that were poking in me in the head LOL!!! I would have turned around and dumped it in my normal rubbish bin.
Just watered all the plants and re-potted a couple. I have now run out of water butt waterAnd I am on a meter. So hoping we get a decent down pour overnight. I did have a look and could see the the pipe from the down pipe was half full of silt. So cleaned that out. And fingers crossed thats why the water butt has not been filling up properly.
I hope everyone if winding down nicely to go bed soon.

Well he changed the fuse and it wasn't that, so we have come to the conclusion that the hoover is now deceased.
One of my friends said to get a Henry hoover as I won't kick that due to it having a smiley face. I think I would still kick it but then feel even more guilty
Will go hoover shopping on Saturday so only one more day of yucky floors!
We did plug wiring at brownies, but that was quite a while ago! I'm sure I could do it if I tried, I just get nervous doing things like that in case it goes horribly wrong0 -
I think it is supposed to rain tomorrow Calley0

I think it is supposed to rain tomorrow Calley
Oh yes just had a look at the met office and its suppose to rain all day.
And we have yellow weather warnings
I need the water for the pots. But I did want to spend some time in the garden tomorrow as well.
Oh well there is always another day :rotfl:

Perhaps that's why they changed the colours to brown and green/yellow?
The other way of remembering which is the Live, is that that's the one that attaches to the thing with the fuse in.(I just lurve spiders!)

After two people at work got electric shocks off appliances, I find electrics a bit scary!

Lets just say he was not at his best - his best not being that high a target in the first place.
