I used to have a thing about bleaching my floors before I'd let anyone in the house, but managed to wean myself off that and now it is just hoovering.
Hubby said he will have a look at fixing it when he gets home, but wondering whether to just go and buy one now so I can get it done before he gets back.

Such a silly thing to get upset about when other people have so much more going on. I need a stern talking to, and a cup of tea!

No its not. If it upsets you then its important to you, you have every right to be upset.

Calley - Pepperberry (Bravissimo) makes clothes especially for the bountifully endowed, as so many of their bra customers bemoaned gaping blouses. Usually several on ebay too!

I might join you in the fort HBS if that is OK?
I may well just sit sulking in the corner though!

Decided that despite feeling hulk-like I was going to have a productive day and pull myself together. Got the hoover out to have a good clean round and it has broken. And yes, I burst in to tears :( I was going to see if MIL or someone was free to come round for a cup of tea to cheer me up, but now noone can come to the house as I cannot hoover.

    Grrrrr!
What's the matter with it? It might be a loose connection in the plug....check that first.
Did it suddenly die? Or did it cough and splutter first?
Or is it just not picking up?
It might be blocked filters. Or a torn bag. Or a blocked tube.

whitewing, that poem was remarkable! Well done for finding it!

I turned it on and it turned itself off ten seconds later. No sparks, spluttering etc, just as though someone flicked the switch. It won't turn on at all now. Tried plugging it in elsewhere.

I've calmed down now and am out of bed, just trying to think of something to do now!

May well be the fuse - is it possible to change the fuse in the plug? x
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

Yes, most likely either the fuse, or a connection in the plug has come loose.

I will get hubby to look later, not something I would dare mess with!

Just sorted out my wardrobe and bagged up some charity shops bit, so getting slightly more motivated!

I hope everyone else is having a good day!

I was having a better day. I am now off to dog training so suspect it's about to go rapidly downhill.
Make space in the fort just in case, and have the hobnobs at the ready.

Just for info, in case anyone's interested, there was a good programme on radio 4 this morning called Inside the Ethics Committee that touched on borderline personality disorder diagnosis. Word of warning though it will be a massive crotch biting penguin for some people as it's also about suicidal thoughts and so not for anyone feeling fragile or for who this is a trigger.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
