Melly, try tossing a coin to decide.
Not so that the coin decides for you, but as the coin is in the air you usually realise which side you hope it lands on.

Afternoon all *throws more sausage rolls into the fort*

Spent most of last night helping a friend decorate cupcakes for her boyfriends birthday, which we're celebrating tomorrow. I say celebrating, I'm cooking and we're playing geeky board games with cake.
I think I overestimated how much I can do without exhausting myself, even cake decorating was a stretch so tomorrow cooking a full meal/serving/clearing up will be fun to say the least.
I'll be over in gerbil corner, with spare cupcakes :)

    Just googled.

You need official photo ID like a passport or driving licence, so I was wrong about that.
    Found this......
"have you got the correct photographic ID for a domestic flight?

easyJet now accepts pension books as a valid form of ID on domestic flights.
This means that the below forms of photographic ID are accepted at check-in:
    UK domestic flights:
A valid passport - an expired passport can be used up to a maximum of two years after expiry
Valid photographic EU or Swiss national identity card
    Valid photographic driving licence
Valid armed forces identity card Valid police warrant card/badge Valid airport employees security identity pass
A child on parent' s passport is an acceptable form of ID
    CitizenCard
    Valid photographic firearm certificate
Valid Government-issued identity card SMART card
    Electoral identity card
    Pension Book
Passengers must present one of the above forms of valid photographic identification on all UK domestic flights.
No other forms of photographic identification are accepted. If you do not have one of the above means of identification, easyJet cannot accept you for travel."

It doesn't specify a provisional licence though. Is that a photographic one these day? And did you have to produce your passport when you applied for the provisional one? If you did, I would think it is accepted.

  • Hi Pyxis...... The customer service agent of Easyjet was not sure and put me on hold then said my PL would be ok.

Might pop down Southend and ask the staff there.

    Best to be absolutely sure.

I probably had to use my passport to go to Belfast and the Channel Islands because I didn't have a photo driving licence, only a paper one.

A provisional licence is still a licence, and the pic gets signed off by a professional. It should count just fine

Talking of gardens, after being too scared to go out into mine, due to there being sooooooo much to do out there, it's been kick-started today.
The main thing that was stopping progression, apart from me feeling so bad for the last 6months, was that a large pile of earth had to be removed and some very large rocks moved to another part of the garden to be a rockery. Once that was gone, I could then deal with that section, and then the next and so on. Couldn't do anything until all that was done. And it was far too much for me to deal with. I had moved a much, much smaller section a while back, and it took weeks and hurt my bad wrist joint.

I get what you mean about so much to do. Thats why I come to a stop. I try and do little bits but by the time I ready to do more I need to start all over again as the weeds have taken over again!!!

I think you need to ask your friend to help you. It is her boyfriend after all!

You see, I've never seen a modern provisional licence. Back in the day of just paper ones, you could get a provisional licence at the Post Office, no photo needed, but it was never accepted as ID for anything. Only a full paper licence, which was issued buy the DvLA, counted. But you only really needed ID on the odd legal occasion then, not all the time like you do now.
