Awww, giant rabbit and snail! I can't wait for the photo's, melly!

Those gnomes are wonderful! I adore them both! They are exactly the kind of gnome I want. I agree, why can't one have a gnome in a flat?! I am determined to get one somehow. I have even considered asking my teacher friend to say he bought one for me as a gift and then buying one myself. Not my fault, Wasp! I didn't buy it! Yes, I am that desperate for one. Then I would tell him the truth once it's here, he is a softy so would never make me get rid of one once I have it. There is no point in asking my american friend, she finds them creepy! Poor gnomes!

Thanks Georgie as a goth I couldn't resist the colour of them.

Garden looks grotto like again as have all of MILS garden ornaments

I used to be a goth too, so thats probably why they appeal to me too! :D

We have a gnome, a hedgehog, a tortoise and cat ornaments. :) I can't see any reason why you can't have a gnome WaS! Good idea about the "gift" ;)

Now they're proper gnomes Pyxis! I agree, some nowadays can look quite tacky.

The story where someone stole a gnome from someone's garden and travelled around the world with it sending postcards as they went always amuses me! :rotfl:

  • Aw, what lovely ornaments, Georgie! I do have three small hedgehogs which are supposed to be in a garden. WaSp actually bought those for me so I know he would accept a gnome if I can just get one in the door. I love garden ornaments, if I had a garden it would end up looking like a fairy grotto!

I have dragons and gargoyles and quite a large griffin. This is the latest addition that hasn't made it outdoors yet:

(Sorry if it comes out huge, I'm using the phone.)

Ahhh, gargoyles! The other thing I really, really want! Your gargoyle is adorable, elsien!

Amazon do little gargoyles that hang onto the side of your monitor. I have been staring at them for months but can't quite justify buying one (yet).

Sorry WaS, must get on my pedant soapbox!

Gargoyles are carvings,,on the edge of roofs, that have a hole in their mouth, sometimes also a spout for allowing the passage of rainwater. They are, in effect elaborate 'drainpipes'.
Without that function, they are called grotesques!

    (Gets off pedant soapbox)

Eeee! Elsien, I have a dragon too! A sleeping dragon, with one eye open!

And two grotesques, one is sticking his tongue out, and the other is going Eeek!

WaS that gnome, the first one, like mine, is for sale on EBay,, £29.99 inc p&p

  • Ooooh, really Pyxis? I never knew that! I have learnt something!

Oh, I am so tempted to buy that gnome. It is just as well I spent every penny I had on pasta or I wouldn't be able to resist!

I have a very beautiful dragon indoor water fountain. It lights up through a crystal next to rocks and water pours down from a waterfall that the dragon is sitting by and turns into mist.

    That sound lovely, WaS!

I've just had a great meal! In my veg box this week I got, amongst other things, some fennel, sugarsnap, peas, carrots, white onions, cherry tomatoes,, and curly lettuce, so I stir-fried it all up with their walnut and almond vegeburgers and herbs, and a dash of green pepper sauce, and it was delish!
I really liked those walnut and almond burgers....must get some more!
Pudding is fresh fruit salad, also from the veg box people,; I mixed up dessert gooseberries, red currants, blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries, physalis and blueberries! Yum yum!
