You need to be careful with gnomes. I have some very old, but reproduction Victorian ones, which are nice, because they are the proper little old men.
But so many gnomes these days are plastic and are really Disney characters.

I'll see if I can find some images of one or two of mine. They are the standard 'antique' styles..........

  • The antique styles is what I want! The ones with cheeky grins and bright clothes!

I am so jealous, melly! I have wanted a gnome for about 20 years. WaSp keeps telling me I can't have one because we live in a flat, I strongly disagree! I shall get one, one day. It's an ambition.

Umm, and why, exactly, can't one have a gnome in a flat?

I've got an otter and a badger that I've had for years, made of stone, and incredibly realistic, and although they were made for the garden, I decided they were too nice to put out there, so for years they were either side of my fireplace, and now, they're in the porch!

I don't have this , but I'd like to! A good gardening gnome! A traditional copy of an antique!

This link gives you the history of the garden gnome. It's very interesting!
