Have to admit, fed up of being broke and car tax at 180.00 is making me struggle this month. Wanted to go to pictures last night only 5.00 but to be honest just my bank account won't stretch to it.
Perhaps we need to cheer ourselves up somehow, mine will be a glass of wine on the patio and look at my gorgeous garden blooming away, when I get back from donating blood, should go to my head quicker hehe

Evening jousters! Hugs to those that need them, or even just those that want them, I'm not fussy!
Spendy day yesterday as needed some lasagne sheets that I'd forgotten on Sunday, but today has been a SFD. Just made a butternut squash and spinach lasagne with the aforementioned lasagne sheets, and it was probably the best thing I've ever cooked - yum! Also cleared out the DVD- and bookshelves, will get £45 for it when it's all parcelled up and sent off
Heading to London at the end of the week so won't be around much until Sunday evening - hoping to bring back tales of thrift and frugality when I return!Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Apologies for absence yesterday - weirdest excuse ever.
I decided to pull off a sealant strip around the bath, Then something like treacle but sticking like tar covered me, my bath, taps and shower head. Long and short of it spent 2hrs sat there with a bottle of turps trying to remove it, just seemed to be getting worse so decided to burst into tears. Also got it on door handles, sittee, must have been still stuck to me. Hands still black today. Threw scrapers away. No idea what it was whether it was a sealant adhesive tape that had reacted with silicon sealant that was near it, or if someone had used grab nail stuff.
Not going near it for a few days, luckily I can still use the bath. So cross just want my shower back in action.
Yesterday popped into Home bargains 2.49 Epson salts for 1 kg. I had to buy dog biccies yesterday bought some last week but can't find them?

Today will be a SFD off to give blood later.
Calling -You poor thing how blooming awful. It's horrible how things like that can steal 2 hours instead of the 20 mins you'd allocated mentally & it sounds such a horrible mess to clear up as well.
well done on giving blood too. We need more regular donates. .Husband always goes. As does his 76 year old Dad. Go you & them!:T" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi all, didn't manage to post last night and this morning because I think gremlins were at work. Lost 3 posts I think. Anyways, keeping my fingers crossed that this one would go through.
Sunday as a big spendy day. £100 on food and housekeeping agents needed replacing/topping up. Still within budget and managed to get a lot of food and vegetable in very good prices. For example, a kilo of cherry tomatoes for 60p, a box of salad tomatoes for £2 which was split with my friend and neighbour. A sack of onions for £3, also split with my friend. Half of my share was peeled and chopped and divided into 12 individual cooking portions and deep frozen. (My first time to try this method, I the hope of preventing them from sprouting). My freezer smelt of onions for the first half hour but as soon as they are frozen they don't smell anymore.
Yesterday would have been a NSD but hubby remembered at the last minute that it was his parents' golden wedding anniversary. They live abroad and we can't afford to fly over to celebrate with them. We went to Nando's instead to celebrate and had Krispy Kreme for dessert. It was very low key but we really didn't want to overspend. A few years ago we wouldn't bat an eyelid even if we spent £100. Times have changed and we hope we are going the right direction.
Today was NSD no 6 and LTW no. 9. Hubby is happy to prepare dinner and I am allowed to put my feet up."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -

I'll join the June is Rubbish club. Asked DH if we could use the extra money I've been putting into the joint account towards a mortgage overpayment. Got told resoundingly no and that he's got more going out than coming in whilst on JSA. Well, yes, but surely this is what a redundancy payment is for?? Nevertheless I feel a little put out and have got to scratch around and find an extra £100 a month which I've agreed to do until he has had two months in paid work. Hopefully it won't be too long as he has been offered a job but still. I'm keeping quiet about my feelings but it is pretty frustrating. I've got some overtime to come next month so that should ease things a bit and I'm sure I can rein in the grocery spends.
Hey ho. Hugs are free at least!

Thrifty - your weekend sounds really stressful. I used to have a psycho neighbour who would bang on the walls if my son made a peep or us for that matter so I remember many early mornings trying to keep my toddler up in his room till we left the mornings. It's not fun is it feeling worn out by 8 am.
I have the same thing this month. Our class end of school party is coming and as class rep I will be expected to make it fun. I am exhausted by 8pm most nights and it's not starting till then. Plus the cost. Shudder. ..." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

For me, June isn't rubbish but having some problems concentrating and making things go in the direction I want them to. Not sure what is wrong - was considering taking myself off somewhere (maybe country park with library as back up if wet) with a notebook and pens and having a sort of seminar day outlining the tasks and seeing what I can do/ solutions for things I can't do that need doing.
I have come to the end of several large projects and not sure about starting some others (Don't want to start something and find out I can't do it, I need a positive outcome). This too will pass.
No SFd as I bought bread (wouldn't buy it at weekend as little arseda had put it back up to £1.35) and don't seem to be able to think beyond sandwiches atm.
Today I am grateful for old-fashioned sweets, for a pleasant shopping experience (more walk than shop and got my bread for £1) and for binmen (have done some of the weeding in the yard and in the backs). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
