Off to bed shortly too, Stewby - finishing a bit later than I wanted to.

Today has been a spendy day... lost 1/2 lb at Weight Watchers, which is... okay... I resisted the goodies at WW, but I did spend a bit later. OH and I went to the park to watch a friend run Race for Life. I bought us a round in a pub on the way home and we ended up staying out a bit later as OH wanted to buy us dinner too. Tried to persuade him to let me cook at home as planned, but no... a curry it was. We couldn't even manage half of it though, so we doggy bagged it - ah well, at least it'll stretch to another meal.

I have spent the evening listening to Stewart Lee and Eddie Izzard on Spotify as I have been doing a mammoth clear-out in my office. I have about 35 books to sell, and I think that's only going to be the part 1 of the cull! ;p
    Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, spent so far £45.95, remaining £104.05.

wishus a loss is still a loss, well done you! I stayed precisely the same this week and I am taking that as a win as I had 2 very very bad food days (for me) and the same 2 days I also struggled to move anywhere due to the limpet child.

I meant to have a nice soak in the bath last night but as I was on my way to do it, little un woke and was feverish and a bit delirious, so brought her into my bed and *slept* for half the night in a denim skirt, t shirt, very uncomfortable bra and underwear. I was freezing on my legs, sweating where Jellytot was insistent on snuggling right into me as she was a mini furnace, and definitely not sleeping due to a combination of those factors and having no tablets for my back because I couldn't move to take them! Fitbit says I got 3 and a half hours. I say it lies :p I got about 1!

I am off to check my cupboards and then head out to do the shopping for the week. I don't desperately need anything now but if I don't do it I will end up doing it tomorrow and that will ruin my me day. Today is house and food day!

Have a good day all. I would have made it 7 days without spending if I didn't spend today!! :D

    Hi Turtles
Sorry for being awol. Up to 7 SFDs for the month so far. Not having a very good month financially, so I feel a bit flat about posting TBH. I think Im having your month from last month MotherNerd

    Hugs to bob and lilt

Bob I am having a rubbish money month too, it happens, next month will be another month.

So today should have been a SFD, however I mentioned to someone at work that I needed to get my long haired dog's coat cut for summer and about the handyman, and she offered to come do the dog today (she is apparently qualified and has all the kit at home, although its not her job). So that will cost me £20 less than taking him to the normal place, I don't have to book an appointment, dash there after work or use petrol going anywhere :) She is also going to see if one of her family members will do the handyman work too :) It's definitely worth chatting to people about stuff!

Plans for this evening will involve cleaning up the dog hair and making a huge lasagne, which I can eat half of this week and freeze the rest for future weeks :)

The heavens have just opened here and are watering the plants for me for free :) and topping up my water butt :) Funny what makes you happy :)

Will pop back later for a read but have a good evening all - have a bubble bath for me bob

Sending out lots of hugs - please take as many as you want - there are plenty for everyone xx

Today I am grateful for the wonderful white cornflowers in the garden, for dd's growing independence, for a chat with dh on the phone, for good conversations with pupils at work, for finally getting the freezer defrosted.

Yet another spendy day yesterday, I'm starting to despair of June! I feel in such a weird in between place - I'm finishing up my notice period so I'm outside things but yet still there..... arg!! It will be fine and I need to stop shopping at lunchtime as an excuse to leave the building :)

Feeling like I need a visit from the frugal fairy this month...

Apologies for absence yesterday - weirdest excuse ever.

I decided to pull off a sealant strip around the bath, Then something like treacle but sticking like tar covered me, my bath, taps and shower head. Long and short of it spent 2hrs sat there with a bottle of turps trying to remove it, just seemed to be getting worse so decided to burst into tears. Also got it on door handles, sittee, must have been still stuck to me. Hands still black today. Threw scrapers away. No idea what it was whether it was a sealant adhesive tape that had reacted with silicon sealant that was near it, or if someone had used grab nail stuff.

Not going near it for a few days, luckily I can still use the bath. So cross just want my shower back in action.

Yesterday popped into Home bargains 2.49 Epson salts for 1 kg. I had to buy dog biccies yesterday bought some last week but can't find them?

Sorry everyone is feeling flat, cmon apple muncher is handing out hugs cheer up and Bob it's good to talk, get back on here posting. Says me.

Today will be a SFD off to give blood later.

    Hello,

was away for the weekend at FIL's and feel worse. Time off at the moment seems more stress than worth. On weekends I just find it so draining so sit in the living room for 3 hrs before anyone else gets up, trying to entertain the kids and keep them quiet, although on Sun we were at the play park at 7am. When you come back it;s playing catch up with shopping, washing etc and the house is still a tip (well in my eyes). Sorry for the self pity. Plus the Glasgow westfest was disappointing as none of the amazing food stalls from last year were there. I was imagining sitting in Kelvingrove Park in the sun getting food and drink delivered.......Nah.

Plus I join the "this month is rubbish" club. It's only the 9th and I'm skint till CB comes in. Under-budgeted again. Always so ambitious but then even little unexpected spends throw me like two drinks with SIL on Sat or the Friday night top up that ends up costing 30 quid when I only budget 70 for the week!

Got two packets of beef mince in the freezer so will make a large batch of lasagne/chilli etc too.

Anyway, the week can only get better.

    Tada

Oh and DH let out a corker on the weekend. Apparently he want's to spend 10k on a car now and trade it in in 4 years time (probably because he'll be bored with it) for a bout 5k and get a new one . He thought it was a great idea as we'll get 5k for it :rotfl:. Really.....?? So I pointed out to him that we then need another 5k to get a new one while we're still paying off the original 10k over 17 years. His logic, honestly. No way this is happening.
