    Morning everyone!

Just said a last goodbye to my ex after finally getting the last of the money he owed me from the flat we shared earlier this year. When it all went to the fall we agreed to pay off all the outstanding bills together... With that money, and some I saved - I just made the final payment on my credit card, meaning...

I am now DEBT FREE <again>!!!
Today is totally the close of one chapter and the start of a new one... My challenge now is to stay debt free, and not slip back like I did last time... I plan on staying around and sticking to a budget... and set new goals... The first of which is to save £500 in my Emergency Fund.

:) Have an amazing day everyone!!! :)

Congratulations :) what a lovely way to start the weekend :)

Well done abundant!!! Amazing news!! And I am very glad you have an ex who lives up to his promises. We aren't all lucky enough to have exes with a moral compass :rotfl: - hope you do stick around and manage to raise your emergency fund!! :D

SFD #5 looking likely for today. All needs are catered for food and drinkwise & the Jellytot has a summer cold and has taken herself off to bed with little appetite so I doubt we will be going very far today.

stewby I know you're looking for answers but I have been told aloe vera gel helps incredibly with the raised bumps you have advised of. Also, I've a few friends suffering with similar currently because of tree pollen and the start of the grass pollen season. Maybe it is a hayfever reaction but because it doesn't incorporate a runny nose etc you're not realising? May be worth taking an anti-histamine for a couple of days and seeing if that helps at all... xxx

Thank you everyone! You're very kind!!!

    Today = SFD number 4

Couple of posts I wanted to comment on... I too struggle with bread... yet can eat wholemeal pasta and it doesn't affect me quite so badly... I switched over to gluten free bread and I found the symptoms subsided... Not sure where that leaves me. Never had any blood tests... might look into it.

Also... shyspender - totally forgot to say thank you for the lunch box idea. I will have a think of something to help jog my memory.

    :)

    Well done abundant!

I've had a couple of spendy days but not too worried. Currently picking my battles and I want to focus on my weight at the moment. In turn not buying junk food will keep my spending down so it works both ways but so long as I put something in my savings every month I'm cool with it taking a back seat until I can break through my weight plateau. I'm stuck at 13 and a half stone and it's bothering me!

Have a lovely sunny weekend everyone :)

Evening all. Thanks everyone for being lovely yesterday, I'm feeling better about the situation now (probably because I'm not at work today).
Also, huge congrats to Abundant - how does it feel to be debt free?!
Been at volunteering all day and then home - not out tonight because I'm shattered, so unintentional SFD :) nothing else to report as I've been shut in a room with scared newbie volunteers all day (bless them!) - hope you've all been out enjoying the sunshine!
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

    Hi everyone!

    Abundant congratulations! What brilliant news!

I'm afraid I'm not doing very well this month. I haven't managed a single SFD yet! Tomorrow will also be a spend day as we are going out for dinner before heading to the airport and off on holiday. I have a voucher for 2 free meals, so will just need to pay for kids meals and drinks, so it shouldn't be extortionate. I probably won't get online much tomorrow so I will 'see' you all in a weeks time! Bye for now!

Today I am grateful for watching some great tennis, for getting the strimmer to work, for being able to sew, for finishing my exam moderation, for the cheerfulness of red geraniums.

    Congratulations abundant.

    Calling14 me wine?

A SFD. Quiet domestic day, a little done (actually went a long way round to save the SFD).

Today I am grateful for good books (really enjoying 'Smile or Die' book but DS3 has just shown me a lot of it is available in cartoon form - one day I will convince my sons that every good book or film cannot be condensed into a Simpsons/ South Park or similar episode), for little things making a difference ( I will have a tidy kitchen and a freezer full of meals) and for it being a mainly sunshine day but not being oppressively so - the other day they had mowed the grass around the church and were onto the library and other town centre bits and as someone has already pointed out, the tree pollen has joined the grass pollen). Hayfever tablets still making me sleepy but not heavy druggy feeling now, just light golden feeling tranquil with occasional naps.
