    Good morning!

The only girl hats off to DS2. Mothernerd that made me laugh out loud and startle my colleagues!

Today won't be an SFD as we'll need milk and some fruit but not much as we'll go over to FIL's for three days and I'll do a big Aldee shop on Monday when we're still off.

Looking fwd to my lunchtime run but will be an interesting shower afterwards as I forgot my towel. Paper towels it is :rotfl:

Tonight's tea will be leftover roast lamb & gravy, leftover Gennaro Contaldo's recipe ragu and pasta. Bit of a pick'n'mix. DS is adamant he doesn't like pasta or tomato sauce but skovs it up every time :D.

Thrifty - I agree with Syn don't put your car finance on your mortgage if you can help it. Nearly put 5k on mine couple of years ago for new door, kitchen so glad I didn't now. Okay impacted on my credit card debt but paid no interest at all, except for balance transfer fees.
My Ford Focus is 10 yrs old, 70k on the clock but still good car, plan to run it into the ground or until it starts costing me money.

The only girl - would be immensely proud of DS2 trained well in MS ways.
Abundant - boo hiss to forgetting your lunch

Will be SFD today after the saucepan splurge yesterday.

    Have a lovely weekend turtles.

Happy Manic Street Preachers gig being shown live tonight, will stop me sulking. Couch, pjs wine and nibbles at the ready. Not the same as being there but still get to see and hear them.

Try this post again - this board is still playing up.

Tried and failed to post last night - only just about managed to update my signature.

I managed SFD 3 yesterday, today will be 4. Tomorrow will be a spendy day as I'm off to London for a meeting for freelance job 2. My ticket is an off-peak travelcard London Midland trains only, and it seemed to want me to arrive most of an hour early after the tube to make that price... which I suppose isn't a bad thing. I can help set up the room, get my notes ready etc. There's an expectation of using the facilities for lunch, but I'll take my own sarnie and use WW as an excuse, then just use the bar/cafe for drinks.

I've warned OH that I might want to make the most of my day in London, see friends, perhaps go to a book launch that is happening late afternoon/early evening. Might as well! Taking plenty of fruit and snacks to keep me going if I decide to hang about. My budget for the day was a meagre £10, but I can extend that now as last week's budget didn't get sent, and I can't make my friend's 40th on the same day in the north midlands - only invited last week, and not many can, which is a pity. But that would have been money spent on a boozy time that now won't be.

I have to say, there are 2 things that are inclined to make me accidentally overspend:

    1. OH - he is my inner chimp, only on the outside of me.
    2. Booze - makes me buy more booze. And snacks!

Well, OH will be left at home, so it's up to me to curtail my inner chimp's favourite tipple tomorrow. Though, I do have plenty of WW points left for it :p

OH was feeling poorly yesterday, so I didn't do as much freelance work as I would have liked. He wanted us to watch Warm Bodies, which we'd recorded from Film 4, so we did, and had some naughty snacks (all pointed) that I got free from work.

We also began listening to a free audio book yesterday, but I have to say I don't think much of it. That's Mr. Bones by Paul Theroux, got it from the library e-service. Think we'll try another one.

Yesterday, my things for which I was grateful:

    *kind words from my colleagues.
*free chocolate almond snacks - 4 were just 2 points. Yay!
*Got to chat to a friend I haven't seen for ages on the way home.:)

Sorry didn't check in yesterday was another hectic day and seem to have no energy and fall asleep just after tea every night.

Syn, lovely quotes keeping us going. I tried Home Bargains, think it was Welsh Kitty who suggested it, for Epsom salts gave up couldn't find them. So ordered some off Amazon, 5.00 for 1kg as I gave in and had to order saucepans, fed up of eating the non stick coating in the couple I have left. So spend day yesterday, plus needed hay for bunny, few odds and ends in home bargains - cleaning materials.

In April I also splurged on some new pot and pans as my old Tfal ones were very unsafe to cook in already as the non stick coatings have peeled off and when I cook stir fried or even scrambled eggs, bits of black (that isn't black pepper) start to appear. My SIL swear by Flavourstone so I ordered their 10-piece set. They are a little bit pricey at £199 and I did feel slightly guilty buying them but I can definitely say they are worth every penny. I am not usually one to fall head over heels on certain products especially over infomercials but I take my hat off to this one. No need to use oil and they heat very quickly. I only tend to use low heat, occasionally medium heat when cooking. In the long run I think they will pay for themselves with the savings on gas and cooking oil. Vey healthy too.

I just went for Tefal ones can't run to that price. I had sainsburys own make ones last time to be honest lasted over 10 yrs. I think maybe I could have done with heavier ones having a gas hob - one day a girl can dream..........

Spendy day today as we needed some last minute bits and pieces... spent a grand total of £9.78 so not too bad really.
    :)

Have spent an extra tenner as I gave mum some money towards my granny's birthday present. No shame there, my granny deserves everything she gets and more.
    :D

Thought I would give you a good giggle at my expense today.
I have a music festival next week (very excited) and as I am a very sensible little turtle, I decided to save some pennies. In the end, I had £200 to use.
Well, this particular festival has gone cashless this year so this wee turtle put the £200 on to the credit card so that I could top up the cashless chip.

Erm... I have only gone and lost the bl**dy credit card... so £510 paid off my credit card debt bringing me down to £1790!!!!!
    :j

However, due to my stupidity, I now owe my parents £200.

Anyways, hugs to everyone. Hope that made you giggle a wee bit. I will pay off my debt somehow.

Hi turtles. Feeling very flat today, sorry for bringing the mood down. Had a horrible situation at work involving one of my patients dying, and it's been on my mind all day. I know these things happen, but it's not nice when they do.
Life stuff aside, today has been a NSD. OH bought me some chocolate to cheer me up, and I must have seemed really down because he's also bought tickets to a gig I want to go to in September (bless him!), but because we have separate budgets, it still counts as no spends for me :D I hope everyone's doing okay today, and that you all have a lovely weekend.
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

Hugs to academiablues - hang in there and be strong... Sending calling lots of super charged energy vibes to get you up and enthused!

Friend's birthday today and as I'd missed his partner's birthday a few months I felt bad and so bought them both a little something. Did a big fruit/veg shop too (plus 2 bottles of wine on offer - a treat - within budget... still technically fruit based haha!!!), so no SFD for me today. Also forgot my premade lunch *again* as was last minute writing the birthday card and late for work. I'm such a ditz!

I'm well impressed I'm eating so well... I've lost 3.3kg in the last 6 weeks... Hoorah! Was 78.8kg - now 75.5kg - aiming for about 70kg. Just walking lots and eating well.

So... still on SFD number 3 :D
