Fmess Can you ask exOH to ring them and reduce the package if CEW's idea doesn't work?

I agree about playing them at their own game, if you can't change it because it isn't yours, then you can't pay it either.

Hope you get it sorted soon

SFD again today so that's erm, 3?

OH has some family visiting this weekend so I'm planning on just pottering around the garden. Got two chilli plants to pot on and some more strimming to do. Waiting for a some gardeners to get back to me with a time frame. Until then, I need to hack back at the jungle. The only issue being that it is a battery powered strimmer (borrowed) so i can only do it bit by bit.

There is a B&M near OH's. In fact, there is pretty much every shop/supermarket near OH's so I plan on doing a lot more grocery shopping over there. Will look out for the epsom salts next time I am over, or ask SD to have a look for me.

NSD no. 3 and LTW no. 4. I also had BTW (breakfast to work) in the form of brioche with butter dipped in free coffee provided by the induction programme.

At last I would like to report that I WALKED today. Got to the Park and Ride parking lot with more than half an hour spare, saw the glorious sunshine and decided to walk to the lecture theatre instead. Nice leisurely walk which took me 25 minutes in free sunshine giving me free vitamin D and lovely fresh air. Didn't have proper walking shoes on but who cares?

Induction programme took only half the day. I could have pretended it was an all day event but rang work and asked if they wanted me to report in the afternoon. Left my car in the Park and Ride lot, hopped on to the shuttle van to the other site where I was to report in the afternoon, (about 25 miles away). Home time, took the shuttle van again, picked up my car and got home, saving me 50 miles worth of petrol,

I am just about to start cooking dinner which is curried lentils with spinach.

Sorry to hear about your struggles fmess. I hope things will get brighter soon.

    Nice quote again shy.

    Enjoy your hols, stewby.

Hugs to everyone going through a difficult time... Hang in there - it has to pass and a brighter day is just around the corner... :hello:

Well I made oodles of food up in my fridge to last me and ended up forgetting to take some to work for my lunch because I was preoccupied. Grrr - that was £3 spent that I needn't have and no SFD. Still - it was a meal deal so as much of a bargain as I could scape out of my canteen lol.

Today I am thankful for my supportive work colleagues and flat mates, for the amazing sunshine, for the home I'm living in that makes me so happy... and for my pasta suprise actually turning out quite tasty (good job as I have it for the next few meals haha!).

    :)

Happy make a delivery driver laugh day. I had to feel my way downstairs as I wasn't wearing my glasses and answered the door with a large towel clutched in front of me, dripping wet hair and holding my left palm flat as I had just poured shampoo onto it when he knocked. Took the parcel off him and did a backwards and sidewards shuffle, then held my head on one side to sign my name so that I didn't drip on his clipboard.

Left a message for DS1, message came back via DS3 - plenty more parcels on the way, so he will collect them after his holidays. Nearly all the quilts and pillows are washed now. (Feels like proper Spring cleaning, two months too late). Left one quilt and two pillows which was good because DS3 returned home.

Spent money, some things needed, others added as will need them soon (so won't lose another SFD tomorrow or next day) and noticed an offer of 4 tins of tuna for £1.87 so bought three. Also spent money as I walked to mum's (furthest walk without crutches so far) but had to come back on the bus.

Today I am grateful for lovely sunshine, making good tasty meals from stores and interaction with sons.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • Hi all just want to share a hilarious conversation here at home this evening. With all my good intentions to cook a sumptuous meal of lentils curry for dinner , I just couldn't get out of bed (absolutely knackered). I asked OH if he fancied Chinese food, maybe we could use our budget for takeaways. My DS2 happened to walk in the room at this point and assertively said "No takeaways allowed! It's NSD today isn't it? I've been trying to live without my favourite fruit juice for the last 2 days because of these NSD's only to forfeit the said NSD for a Chinese takeaway?" Needless to say OH and I looked at each other and rotfl. :rotfl:

Whew that was a lucky save. I am so thankful for that very wise input from DS2.

Spendy day yesterday, needed milk and a few bits. Hoping to achieve a NSD today and possibly sunday, saturday will be spendy I think because I'm taking my grandmother to the symphony hall in birmingham for a late birthday present. After today I have only 2 more weeks to go at my job.... EEK!

Sorry didn't check in yesterday was another hectic day and seem to have no energy and fall asleep just after tea every night.

Syn, lovely quotes keeping us going. I tried Home Bargains, think it was Welsh Kitty who suggested it, for Epsom salts gave up couldn't find them. So ordered some off Amazon, 5.00 for 1kg as I gave in and had to order saucepans, fed up of eating the non stick coating in the couple I have left. So spend day yesterday, plus needed hay for bunny, few odds and ends in home bargains - cleaning materials.
